Akaza Station

Posted on Mon Oct 17th, 2022 @ 2:53am by Captain Elijah Rutherford & Lieutenant Hadir Prenar & Lieutenant S'anra Shalakar

Mission: A New Beginning
Location: Akaza Station
3506 words - 7 OF Standard Post Measure

Akaza Station, a place that wasn't run by the Federation. A place that you can get different goods, a different place where people lived, worked, played. Well, it depended on exactly what you wanted to play. Some people would call it a place of scum and villainy. Others would call it a free port, where you can acquire things you normally can not buy. It all depended on who you ask. In some aspect, it could be considered a crossroads of some sort. Just remember, don't let anyone know you are of StarFleet, it wouldn't go well for you. There is a rumor though that StarFleet would be welcome, if on an emergency basis, but this was a civilian run place.

The SS Firecloud made it to its destination, it being hailed by the flight control of the station, and Rashad answered it, sending the necessary codes to dock. He then looked at those on the bridge once the communications were finished. "All right people, we've got business to attend to, just be on the look out in case others decide they wish to acquire this vessel. You know the drill. This is just a drop off and a also a pick up. You do well and you'll get to go on shore leave at the next stop. Shall we do this?" there was a general acknowledgement from those there.

" Jacobs you've got the con." then Rashad looked towards S'anra and Hadir, "Leo, my second officer will accompany you." nodding towards the barrel-chested man who had arrived on the bridge. The tall man gave a nod. "I'll go get your friend and we'll be on our way. You three head on out." Rashad gave a flash of a smile towards Leo. "You take care of them, don't want anything to happen to them."

Leo gestured, "Right this way."

The tall burly man, scratched his black beard once he, S'anra and Hadir stepped foot away from the docking ring. "Now for the hunt." he muttered.

Now the information that had been given on where the contacts could be found, the best bet would be at Rhyan's bar, but also could be found running a temporary shop as well on the promenade area. Or at their temporary quarters.

The newcomer threw Hadir a little off his plans. He had hoped that it would be just he and S'anra he did not like newcomers into his operations as they had a tendency to be a wild card. It especially struck that cord with his eagerness for the hunt as it were. For Hadir this should draw as little attention as possible, and yet when someone was on the hunt they tended to draw attention despite not wanting it. "Let us start with Rhyan's Bar. best to start somewhere public and work our way back."

" I agree. " said S'anra. She wondered about the second officer coming along with them and noted that Hadir seemed a bit off at the moment and knew that they were planning while she flew the ship here, she slipped her arm through his and drew closer to Hadir and spoke quietly. " Might I be briefed about what you were all planning while I was flying the ship? " She asked him. She lay her head upon his shoulder as they walked to their destination, playing the part of a couple as she slipped back into her role.

Leo caught the look from S'anra and Hadir, "You don't want me coming with you, do ya. You may not trust me but Rashad's got reason fer me to come with you and I don't plan on fouling this up. This isn't my first rodeo." the man giving a warm smile before he went back to his dour expression. "Just..don't worry not going to say trust me, as that there in my book says I am not trust worthy." he went quiet after that as the trio made their way to Rhyan's Bar.

The place was busy, a stage was set in one area with tables near by. Two female dancers were up on the stage, one was a Bajoran, the other was human. it was an old bump and grind number, with two large feather fans the ladies doing a strip tease. There was a lot of whistles and cat calls as the women performed.

"Looks like Opal and Emerald are on tonight." Leo said quietly. "Good dancers."

Hadir's eyes were not on the stage. He could care less about the dancers at least for the time being. The Cardassian was more interested in the people in the bar and he surveyed them looking for the contacts that they were after. Of course he did not immediately see them, as that would have been too easy and he knew it. He leaned into S'anra. "At the moment the plan is to blend in as best as possible and find our targets. Once found we extract with as little fuss as possible. However, I fear this is going to be a seat of our pants kind of operation."

S'anra placed two fingers on Hadir's chin and turned his head towards her a little more and tiptoed up high enough to kiss him on the lips quickly. She whispered to him. " I'll follow your lead, but I'm here posing as your girlfriend. Now we'll look like just another couple. " She said with a smile and wrapped her arms around his and laid her head on his shoulder as they walked around looking for an open table. They found an open table with a decent view of the tables and the patrons and a waitress came by and asked them what they'd like to drink. " A Midori please. " Said S"anra, and waited for Hadir to order. Feeling a little mischievous she nuzzled Hadir's ear and whispered. " those girls are fairly decent dancers, don't you think? or would you like me to cause a distraction while you contact the target when we locate them and you extract them while I show them what real dancing looks like?"

Hadir knew that the flirting and the kissing was all because of the mission. But there was a part of him deep down that wished it wasn't. Those feelings would have to wait, it would serve no use in trying that now. He ordered a glass of kanar and was surprised when the server stated they had multiple vintages. He chose the 2373 knowing that to be a good year for kanar but bad for everything else. "That is a brilliant idea. When we find the contacts you will distract the populace so that I can make contact." He said in reference to S'anra's plan.

" It shall be as you wish. I don't believe I'll have any problem convincing the manager to allow me to dance for just tips during my performance, there would only be a profit in it for him. And if I can get these spacer boys riled up with excitement, they'll buy more drinks to get up the nerve to talk to the girls. Hopefully by that time you'll have made contact and are ready for us to depart before I have to deal with amorous suitors. "

"Indeed and it seems that we may not have to wait too long." Hadir said with a slight nod toward the door. It seemed that their contacts had been walking in at exactly the right moment.

The dancers on the stage were going through their act, the onlookers not as riveted as what they could be. They were just enjoying their drinks and just watching. Leo commented to S'anra "I am certain that the manager would be quite willing to have you dance." his eyes running over the green skinned beauty.

As S'anra was set to go, the duo, Dasha Noir, the exotic green beauty and Eldon Alarive walked in. They looked around at first, scanning the area then went to find a seat at a table. Dasha was wearing a dark blue cloak around her shoulders which draped all the way to the floor. Eldon Alarive was wearing a red tunic and black trouser with boots. He was having even more of a watchful eye on things. His eyes stopping for a moment on Hadir and Leo as well as S'anra. He then motioned towards the bar tender holding up two finger, the bartender giving a nod.

"I do believe it may be showtime." Hadir said as he rose to his feet to head to the bar. "I am going to buy our friends a drink and invite them over." When he arrived at the bar Hadir smiled toward the bartender. It was a disarming wide smile that Cardassians are known for. "I would like to buy their drinks. And if the two of you would like to join me and my friends at our table I am sure we can get to know each other."

S'anra watched as Hadir went over to the bar to invite the pair over to the table, she casually glanced around the room to see if anyone was paying any attention to Hadir and the pair he was speaking with. She then checked her bag, It wasn't much but it would do in a pinch and would keep the attention of everyone in the room when she got up on stage for her portion of the distraction.

The bartender gave a nod, and turned to the two who were there, "Looks like your drinks are being bought." speaking to Dasha and Eldon.

"Many thanks handsome." the Orion woman spoke in a sultry tone, giving Hadir a once over.

Her companion smiled broadly, "And what is the occasion for the invite? I have noted you have a lovely companion there as well." Eldon asked watching as S'anra headed towards the stage. He then looked at Hadir, "If you've got a table we'd be interested in sitting there with you."

At the stage, S'anra would be met by the stage manager, "What can I do fer you?" he asked.

Hadir smiled at the two. "Well I do indeed have a companion and as my Ferengi friends say the more the merrier." He motioned toward the table. "Come lets sit and enjoy the show shall we." A few moments later Hadir sat down with the two new comers. He raised his glass. "To new friendships may they never be broken."

S'anra smiled warmly at the bar manager. " I'm a dancer myself and I know that the manager takes twenty percent of a dancers tips to cover expenses, I'm a bit short of some coin to pay passage off of the station. If you allow me to dance a set or two I would be willing to increase the cut to thirty percent for you. That will give you that much more coin and I'll be able to pay my passage and food for the journey. I even have my own costume and can be ready in just a few minutes, and we both get what we want. Do we have a deal? " S'anra asked.

Hadir sipped his drink after the toast and took stock of the new comers. They certainly fit the bill of the people they searched for. He dared not start talking until the music began. To that end he hoped S'anra could pull it off as he had no other ideas.

The stage manager after giving S'anra an assessing gaze gave a nod. "You've got yourself a deal. You will be onstage next as they are almost done with their number.

S'anra smiled. " Thank you, I knew we could come to a understanding that would benefit us both. " She started up the stairs and headed to the dressing booth, For the costume she had it wouldn't take long for her to put it on. She found a couple of fans and set them up behind her pointed out towards the audience area. S'anra chuckled to herself, If Hadir wanted a distraction then she'd give them one they'd never forget.

Back at the table Leo watched what was going on, giving a nod towards Dasha and Eldon. "Welcome, and looks like we'll have a really good performance."

Eldon leaned forward after the toast that Hadir had given. "What sort of business are you in? Are you a free trader? And if so what sort of goods are you acquiring?"

"Indeed I am a free trader and one can say that I deal in personnel. That is I acquire people with certain skills and put them in touch with those who may need those skills." Hadir hoped that was close enough to the mark for them to understand that he was there for them. The Cardassian did not want to go in depth, at least not until S'anra started her dance.

At first there was an questioning expression in the man's eyes, then it cleared and his gaze became more sharpened. He gave an almost imperceptible nod towards Hadir acknowledging what he did not say. " I am glad of that, thank you."

S'anra barely had enough time to prep her costume and set up the fans and get them going. The stage was dark and the pulsating sound of erotic Orion dance music began to fill the audience area, she knew that the fans would indeed play a role in the distraction as they spread her pheromones to the audience and keep their attention on her. She danced and swayed in time with the music as she lost herself in the dance that she had learned when she was young.
the vails fell off her costume until she barely had enough to cover her upper and lower sections, if she lost anymore of the costume came off station security might be called. She finished her dance with a graceful bow and collected her costume and tips before she left the stage and went to give the bar manager his cut and then redressed.

S'anra had been keeping an eye on the table incase they had left during the performance and would either join them at the table or follow in the direction they went and contact them by communicator.

As the music began Hadir knew this was the moment, and they would not have much time. So, he spoke quickly. "We do not have much time so I will explain as quick as I can. We are from a Starfleet Intelligence Team sent to get you out. So, while the lovely Lieutenant struts her stuff up there I suggest the three of us leave and head for the ship that brought me here. Just some business people off to make a deal. If you agree I suggest you take my hand and laugh. It has to look like we just struck a bargain." The Cardassian had always been able to keep his attention on multiple things. And so he did right now, not only was he talking but he made sure S'anra was not being harassed and kept an ear out for the end of the song.

At the end of the song she collected the fallen vails and credits, it was a decent haul for a single dance, around two thousand credits. She paid the bar manager his cut of six hundred credits and then talked to the Nassican Bouncer. " That Telerite merchant kept pawing at me during my performance." She counted out fifty credits and handed them to the bouncer. " I'm leaving now, Could you make sure he doesn't leave here for about ten minutes please? I'll be where I need to be and he won't be able to find me. " The Nassican grinned and nodded. =^= If he tries to follow you, I'll break his leg. =^= Growled the Nassican. He walked S'anra to the door and glared at the telerite who started in her direction and thought the better of it when the Nassican began checking the edge of his blade and eyeing the merchant. S'anra followed in the direction that they departed in walking at a brisk pace but not enough to attract attention.

Eldon gave an uprise of an eyebrow, wrapped one arm around his Orion companion, Dasha who acted innocent though her eyes had the expression of acknowlegement. "I am sure she is agreeable." clasping Hadir's hand and standing up as well.

Hadir rose from his seat laughing and clapped Eldon on the back of his shoulders. "Well said well said indeed." He motioned for the door so Eldon and Dasha could lead the way. This was a tactical decision this way Hadir could keep his eyes peeled for anyone who would try to stop them. In particular if someone followed them.

Dasha and Eldon went to catch up with S'anra, with Dasha wrapping her arm around S'anra's shoulder. "Cousin it has been long overdue for our reunion."

S'anra turned with a huge smile and clasped Dasha's forearms and touched her forehead to Dasha's in a fimilar family greeting. " It is so good to see you again! There is much we need to talk about and a few things I want to show you. My boyfriend has bought enough Talarian silk to make at least two full dresses, or at least four good Orion outfits. We'll have to discuss what would look the best and how it should best be used. " She said with a knowing nod from one Orion woman to another and a smile that conveyed the meaning, which could only mean trouble for a man.

Leo on the other hand was keeping watch over those he was with, gave a nod to Hadir and Eldon. "My Employer sends his greetings, and asks if you have a blue stone with the stars inside."

On the which Eldon gave a nod, pulling out said stone and passing it over to Leo. "They won't be too far behind us, and I hope you've got a route planned for us to leave by."

Hadir ran behind everyone else. He brought up the rear as he looked over his shoulder constantly to make sure that they were not followed. So far so good as it were, and the coast was clear. "Leo, if you would be so kind as to contact the good Captain and perhaps he can get us over to the ship in quicker method. I would like to get there before the rest of the people realize that we are gone."

Leo gave a nod, and sent a signal to where he and the team he was with, were beamed from Akaza Station directly to the SS Firecloud. Where they were met by the transporter officer. "welcome back." he said. "We'll get our guests settled, and the captain will be here soon with your friend."

S'anra wasn't expecting to be transported and pulled her dagger from it's sheath until she realized that she was aboard the Firecloud and put the blade back in it's sheath. " A little warning would have been nice . " S'anra muttered. She looked about. " Where are the others? " She asked. " There wasn't any trouble with any of the away team getting back to the ship was there? "

"I believe we have all made it back safe and sound m'dear. Now if you would be so kind as to get us out of here. The sooner we are heading back to the Majestic, the sooner we can have our friends here debriefed." Hadir smiled and made his way for the Bridge. He signaled that everyone else should follow.

S'anra followed and smiled as soon as she stepped into the bridge proper, She made a beeline straight for the pilot's seat and began prepping the ship for flight and a few tactical evasive maneuvers in case they were needed. " All systems are ready to go, and we are in standby waiting for clearance. Give the word Captain and get us out of here. "

Rashad had just stepped onto the bridge, "Helm get us out of here. And we'll be meeting with the Majestic in a little bit." he sat down in the command chair and fed some coordinates for S'anra. "Go to these coordinates, and don't worry, you'll be able to get back to your ship." he stated. "And don't worry your other team member is back on the ship as well. No one lost or left behind."

"You know sometimes it is just amazing when I plan comes together and I love it." Hadir said with a smile. He wished he could have a glass of kanar to celebrate. However, that would have to wait until he arrived back at the Majestic.

S'anra checked and confirmed the coordinates in the Nav Computer. Course laid in and confirmed Captain. We're departing Akuza station at one quarter impulse speed. " She was quiet for a minute before speaking again. " We have cleared the stations outer markers. Jumping to warp speed in three, two , one. Jump completed and speed is holding at warp five, estimated time of arrival one hour and thirty minutes. "
