| Personal History | Cade grew up in academia with both of his parents tenured professors at the Windershil University, in Trefol province on Betezoid. When they weren’t teaching, they were leading studies in the field. Cade grew up in the university children’s development program, surrounded by beings from all over the galaxy. Being taught by people who were themselves learning sparked a keen interest in learning. The Dominion occupation of Betezoid when he was six affected him deeply. Many people he knew were suddenly not there and he couldn’t understand at first where they’d gone. Following the occupation, he received counseling and felt drawn to helping people. His parents had done what they’d had to survive the occupation in the face of losing many extended family members and there was some animosity within the family where it shouldn’t be. As he grew up, the lessons learned in his counseling sessions stood out and he developed a desire to help people. His interest in meeting new people and learning about their cultures and society drove his learning and by the age of fifteen he knew he wanted to pursue applied medical sciences. He enrolled in the Betezoid Defense Forces pioneer forces at the age of fifteen, continuing that association through his bachelor studies and medical school. He did his internship with the BDF and was nominated to a Federation exchange doctor program. Cade saw this as a chance to see more of the galaxy and accepted, traveling to Earth to attend the required exchange courses and from there was assigned into the Fleet. |
