Welcome to the USS Majestic!

The USS Majestic is a Majestic Class starship proudly serving in Obsidian Fleet's 72C Task Group in the year 2396. If you’re looking for the newest, fanciest, fastest ship in the fleet . . . you’ve come to the wrong place. Our ship has been around the block a few times, much like the people who fly her. Having undergone a recent refit she’s once again ready to explore the universe and we’d like you to come along! Join us as we explore the expanding universe and the depths of our own souls.

Captain Jane Saulitis
Commanding Officer
USS Majestic

"Within all of us is a varying amount of space lint and star dust, the residue from our creation. Most are too busy to notice it, and it is stronger in some than others. It is strongest in those of us who fly and is responsible for an unconscious, subtle desire to slip into some wings and try for the elusive boundaries of our origin." — K O Eckland

Hello all,

I'm home from my little vacation so I thought I'd do a little reminder about the mission because things have been a little slow lately.

We have two missions that are connected and yet separate at the moment. First is the crisis on the planet which really can't be addressed by the crew of the Majestic unless they are on the planet. The planet has phased into another dimension so our away team is not accessible unless you happen to be on the planet already and if you are there's great opportunity to write about what happens to your character within those five years. Could be anything from meeting the love of their life to almost dying from a childhood disease. I'm really open to anything so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

the second plot is the illness seen aboard the Majestic. So far only a couple of people have been infected but make no mistake, this is a plague. It will pass through the ship leaving few people unaffected so prepare for the worst! The only people who are immune are those that did not go down on the planet at any point. course it's up to you if you want your character to get sick or not, but it's more fun if a lot of people participate.

I'm always open to new ideas though, so if you have a thought on how your character can interact on the ship or on the planet at the moment please let me know!

We're almost to friday, enjoy your week!

Sim Updates

We are finally getting to put our Silver UOM award on the website. It's been a busy couple of months for me! Did a Nova update and figured out a little glitch that was preventing a crewmember from accessing her character when she logged in. No other changes to website, it seems to run like a well oiled machine!

Crew Updates

Lost one crew member to time constraints, possibly two, haven't finalized the details on that yet. No promotions or awards this month.

Open Positions:
Chief Operations Officer
Chief Counselor
Security Officer

Story Elements

We are just starting our second mission. A member of the crew is missing as all life and any sign of development has disappeared from Marga III minutes after the crew beamed up from shoreleave. The crew will do all they can to investigate from the ship to ensure that Crewman Stef returns to us! Meanwhile crewmembers on board are beginning to feel ill and will start dropping like flies unless the source can be discovered and a cure found.

USS Majestic – March 31, 2019
Task Force 72, Task Group 72C

Sim Updates
No updates to the website. Everything seems to be running pretty smoothly. We've discussed putting a few awards up on the site for the people who have won them but we haven't decided yet what we will do.

Crew Updates
No new crew members and no one left. Lieutenant Murphy (our Chief Engineer and Second Officer) was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. Lieutenant (jg) Sandra Adamson, our Chief Medical Officer was promoted to Lieutenant. Congratulations to both of them! They both helped move the storyline along and their additions to the story were invaluable.

Also, Lieutenant Murphy received the RUN award for coming up with the most posts with the word "Run" in the title. It was a fun contest and his titles were always interesting.

Right now the open positions we'd like filled are Chief Counselor and Chief of Operations.

Story Elements
We are wrapping our our Shore Leave on Marga III but before we can leave the planet we realize we might be missing someone and are forced to remain behind to search for him. This will begin our second mission and it should be a lot of fun because it provides some character development on a broad scale. While aboard the ship something will be brewing as well to keep our medical department busy! It's a way for a few select characters to really shine.

Other Information
We were a bit slower this month but I expected that as shore leave is more optional writing. Plus, we had some really great plots going on with that including a temporary kidnapping of the captain, a nude beach, a snowball fight and the XO getting arrested for walking on the grass. The crew never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and imagination.

Sim Updates

Small updates such as changing the year to reflect the rest of the fleet. We discussed a redesign but people seem to like the red because it's different from a lot of other sims so it looks like that will be staying, at least for now.

Crew Updates

We gained two new members this month and lost no one. Welcome to Lieutenant (jg) T'Par, Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer and Lieutenant Commander Aldrich, Chief Science Officer!

And as we are at the end of our missions, Awards are coming as well as Promotions, finally!

Our open positions include:
Chief Operations Officer
Chief Strategic Operations Officer
Chief Counselor
Chief Diplomatic Officer

Story Elements

We are at the very end of our mission, the last post in fact. The big reveal about who our saboteur is . . . how the Creoli react to losing their Ambassador and the reason this happened in the first place.
Concurrent with that we have started writing Shoreleave posts. We are visiting the lovely planet of Marga III, very similar to Earth, has everything anyone could want for a vacation spot and a big dark secret that will pull us in after we've had a bit of sun and sand.

Other Information

I want to thank the crew for their awesome hard work. We've had a lot of fun with this mission, and some side missions that we came up with along the way. I really feel like each character on this sim is so unique and so real and it's been a joy to see what they've come up with.

Sim Updates

No updates to the website except maintenance stuff which my wonderful webmaster takes care of . . . because if it were up to me we'd all be doomed. DOOMED!!!!!

Crew Updates

No crew left and we didn't gain anyone. Awards will be at the end of the mission. We could use a Counselor along with anyone in the Science or Operations divisions. Or really just anyone that likes to write and doesn't mind our wonderful little creative group here! My crew is awesome!

Story Elements

So . . . living up to my reputation as the feather captain, our ambassador has perished in a pile of feathers. Someone did him in, was it the same someone who set off the bomb in engineering? Supposedly that person is in custody. Did he have an accomplice? Or is poor Stef innocent? I am working on a news story regarding the ambassador, should probably wrap that up.

Also we've just started this holodeck post that sounds like a lot of fun using one of my NPC's who can barely tie his own shoelaces. It can go on in the background of the investigation as wanted. A Fist Full Of Datas meets Hollow Pursuits perhaps . . .
