Welcome to the USS Majestic!

The USS Majestic is a Majestic Class starship proudly serving in Obsidian Fleet's 72C Task Group in the year 2396. If you’re looking for the newest, fanciest, fastest ship in the fleet . . . you’ve come to the wrong place. Our ship has been around the block a few times, much like the people who fly her. Having undergone a recent refit she’s once again ready to explore the universe and we’d like you to come along! Join Commander Jane Saulitis and her crew as we explore the universe and the depths of our souls!

"Within all of us is a varying amount of space lint and star dust, the residue from our creation. Most are too busy to notice it, and it is stronger in some than others. It is strongest in those of us who fly and is responsible for an unconscious, subtle desire to slip into some wings and try for the elusive boundaries of our origin." — K O Eckland

Sim Updates

Small updates such as changing the year to reflect the rest of the fleet. We discussed a redesign but people seem to like the red because it's different from a lot of other sims so it looks like that will be staying, at least for now.

Crew Updates

We gained two new members this month and lost no one. Welcome to Lieutenant (jg) T'Par, Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer and Lieutenant Commander Aldrich, Chief Science Officer!

And as we are at the end of our missions, Awards are coming as well as Promotions, finally!

Our open positions include:
Chief Operations Officer
Chief Strategic Operations Officer
Chief Counselor
Chief Diplomatic Officer

Story Elements

We are at the very end of our mission, the last post in fact. The big reveal about who our saboteur is . . . how the Creoli react to losing their Ambassador and the reason this happened in the first place.
Concurrent with that we have started writing Shoreleave posts. We are visiting the lovely planet of Marga III, very similar to Earth, has everything anyone could want for a vacation spot and a big dark secret that will pull us in after we've had a bit of sun and sand.

Other Information

I want to thank the crew for their awesome hard work. We've had a lot of fun with this mission, and some side missions that we came up with along the way. I really feel like each character on this sim is so unique and so real and it's been a joy to see what they've come up with.

Sim Updates

No updates to the website except maintenance stuff which my wonderful webmaster takes care of . . . because if it were up to me we'd all be doomed. DOOMED!!!!!

Crew Updates

No crew left and we didn't gain anyone. Awards will be at the end of the mission. We could use a Counselor along with anyone in the Science or Operations divisions. Or really just anyone that likes to write and doesn't mind our wonderful little creative group here! My crew is awesome!

Story Elements

So . . . living up to my reputation as the feather captain, our ambassador has perished in a pile of feathers. Someone did him in, was it the same someone who set off the bomb in engineering? Supposedly that person is in custody. Did he have an accomplice? Or is poor Stef innocent? I am working on a news story regarding the ambassador, should probably wrap that up.

Also we've just started this holodeck post that sounds like a lot of fun using one of my NPC's who can barely tie his own shoelaces. It can go on in the background of the investigation as wanted. A Fist Full Of Datas meets Hollow Pursuits perhaps . . .

Sim Updates
No updates worth mentioning. Once the mission concludes I'm going to talk to my webmaster about putting up awards on the manifest.

Crew Updates
We have one new crew member this month. Welcome Ensign O'Donnaghue who is playing our chief flight control officer! We hope you have fun with us. We lost no one this month. Awards and promotions will be done as we get closer to the end of the mission.

Open Positions include: Chief Strategic Operations Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Science Officer

Story Elements
The Majestic is still adrift in space. Despite the good posting count a lot of them weren't mission related, which is fine because I know a lot of people were traveling and busy with the holidays. I'd like to wrap up this part of the mission soon though so we can move on to part three and the conclusion which is much more interesting in my humble opinion!

Other Information
Just wanted to say I'm really pleased with the post count this month. Despite the month being a busy one for holidays we still managed to have a good count with some interesting posts! Thanks, you guys (and gals) are awesome!

USS Majestic – November 27, 2018

Task Force 72, Task Group 72C

Sim Updates
We've (or I Should say she, that is my webmaster) has updated a couple of the images, putting an image in our resource tab and also a different image under Majestic on the website. They look great! Couldn't get along without her help as I'm fairly hopeless at this sort of thing.

Crew Updates
No one left and no one joined us. There should be a promotion soon, check back for updates! I just want to move a little further into the mission before that happens. I do plan on handing out a couple of awards at the end of the mission, best post etc. I also have a little contest going to see who can write the most number of posts with the word 'run' in the title. Just for fun as our mission is titled Run Afoul.

Story Elements
The Majestic is currently dead in space. An explosion in Engineering has taken any propulsion offline. We are currently investigating and making repairs. This post will be out before the end of the month and we can continue to find clues as to what happened.

USS Majestic – October 29, 2018

Task Force 72, Task Group 72C

Sim Updates
The websites been running like well oiled machine thanks to my webmaster. I do plan on adding some new images to it, I even dreamed about such last night! But I still haven't gotten to that yet.

Crew Updates
We have added a player this month. We've been joined by a good friend of mine who has taken the Security investigations position. I confess it wasn't a position I had ever taken an interest in but after he inquired about it we both looked into it and I'm sorry that I haven't discovered it until now because it seems so interesting. A Ferengi security investigations officer no less.

Open Positions:

Flight Control
Strategic Operations
Chief Operations Officer
Chief Science Officer
Chief Diplomatic Officer

Story Elements
Things have slowed down a little bit, it didn't help that I was gone for a week out of state so I was preparing for the trip and then actually gone for seven days.

The Majestic is currently traveling without her warp engines due to a mysterious malfunction. Our Chief Engineer has assured us the delay will only be a couple of days but it will push back our arrival at Bairl for the 100 Years of Peace Ceremony. In the meantime the crew can get to know one another since we are all fairly new. Making new friends never hurt anyone right? ????

A couple of us are doing a Halloween post to torture an NPC of mine, but we aren't doing anything ship wide for the holiday.

Following the mountain retreat, Murphy really wanted to spend some time in the city, exploring the urban life of the planet with clubs, restaurants, and maybe a performance or two. They arrived in the Capitol city by high speed maglev train, just like they'd taken to the mountains. It had…

"You're sure this is what you want?" Hak asked again, quietly, as they walked down the massive pier of Marga III's capitol district. He squeezed her hand. It was what he wanted for the longest time, more than anything, but her feelings had been more complicated and he respected that.…

"I think this was a good idea," Murphy said, not for the first time. He'd watched the landscape outside of the high speed maglev train over the past fourty minutes morph slowly from flat plains to gradually evolving hillsides until finally mountainous peaks filled the distant horizon. "But I've never…
