Personality & Traits
General Overview | Siora is quite friendly and outgoing. She doesn't shy away from social situations and often feels at home in the company of others. Often she uses her El Aurian 'listening' ability to gain access to information from people but this is usually because she genuinely wants to get to know them. Has a huge love of chocolate, and anything chocolate related. Will always have a hot chocolate when possible. |
Strengths & Weaknesses | +El Aurian Listening ability, people open up to her with little effort or coercion. +Open and approachable +Given her appearance she can blend into crowds and is often unsuspected as working for Intelligence. +/- Has strong bonds to her people which can conflict her if she is given an assignment from home, from the Grand Council. - As it is a strength it can also be a weakness, her youthful appearance. At time can be perceived as a young Human leading to misunderstandings and such. - Can be too honest at times. |
Ambitions | Recently has been thinking more of settling down and looking to start a family. Make a home for herself. See where Starfleet takes her. |
Hobbies & Interests | Enjoys yoga (Il'ea form) and reading. She is also an avid reader of history old and new. Love all animals but sadly doesn't have any of her own. |
Personal History | Siora was born in Pilon Province on El-Auria to parents Halsin and Loshta Carberos. Her father was a General in The El-Aurian military and her mother an engineer by trade. Her childhood was one of great ease and comfort as her father’s position allowed them to live as such. Her mother, a credited engineer within the EDF, had worked alongside her father for almost their entire lives pushing the envelope in terms of military technology and weapons against their nemesis The Borg. As an El-Aurians lifespan stretches throughout the centuries Siora spent the first 20 years of her life in primary education learning mathematics and language skills that would serve her well in the future. At the age of 25 they enter secondary school, and the first 15 years are spent learning more complex skills such as the social sciences of sociology, psychology and the like whilst more intricate science in physics, chemistry, and biology. By the age of 40 they enter the final phase of secondary education is a 5-year speciality focus which is identified by performance criteria, intelligence factors and family background. She was spotlighted for a engineering track, as she had an acute intricate mind when it came to mechanical workings of technology and the potential power that can be utilised working, or building, with such. At the age of 45 her speciality education began at The El-Aurian Engineering Division (EED). She began an apprenticeship within the EED focusing on defensivel technologies for their civilian and military fleets. During her apprenticeship she contributed to the new repellent to combat the assimilation technology The Borg used. This was seen to be especially effective and was given the green light to be distributed amongst the population and military. In 2165 she completed her apprenticeship with The EED and was granted the title of Engineer and transferred to The El-Aurian Defence Division (EDD). In this she ran her own lab, had her own team which focused Borg defences, that was a great honour as they began to pose a greater threat to their own system as they encroached further into their domain. The early 2200's were a time of breakthrough in her lab. They had managed to create their own nanobots that would essentially put The Borg to 'sleep', a state of suspended hibernation but it was the job of the EDF to implement it. Siora went along with the small fleet whose job it was to 'infect' The Borg with something of their own. Targeting a small sphere, they attacked with great ferocity tearing down their defences, beating back the drones with sheer determination and strength. During the attack Siora suffered an injury to her right shoulder when a Borg drone attacked her as she worked on a nearby node. In the attack the drone lunged at her with a knife-like implement entering her shoulder at speed and force. During the struggle, the implement snapped off leaving half of it in her shoulder, and she refused to get it removed. Her pain would stand as a testament to not let bullies have their day. They were successful. Siora worked through the pain of her injured body and managed to infect the Borg with a taste of their own medicine. Upon its activation they simply stopped, dropped, and snoozed. Had They won? Years of prosperity began; worlds began to live their lives without fear and friendships born out of love and coming togetherness that had not been seen for centuries. El-Auria itself became a hub of many hundreds of species that came to pay their 'respects'. Siora became quite famous as the leader of the team that made it all happen albeit she didn't let it go to her head and kept working on many projects to further advance her people. Their peace lasted until the latter half of the 2280's. There had been whispers of Borg resurfacing albeit sluggishly in nature as the nanites seemingly began to wear off. Attacks became more frequent, more violent as they seemed to lack their collective mentality... it was almost like they were heading straight for El-Auria to enact their revenge for their near 90 years of forced sleep. Many labs, not just her own, spun back into action trying to come up with an attachment to the nanites programming to strengthen it, embolden it... to put Them back to sleep. Unknown to others was that her team had been working on a 'kill' code that would sever all links to the collective and essentially force a cold turkey styled push for individualism. 2293 came. They tried, they really tried but it was a lost cause. Was there ever any hope? Siora tried to get her nanites completed but simply ran out of time, technology, and a home world. Her devastation was clear, but she took some solace in the fact she had given people nearly a century of peace from Their mechanical grasp. On The flip side there was a part of her that blamed herself... did They come for Them in revenge, or her? -- The 2300's brought a new challenge, new worlds, and a new quadrant. People on this side of the galaxy had no idea what was coming, the threat The Borg were, and they would be on their doorstep within their lifetimes, within the century by her calculations. She was ignored by many as the thought of mechanical men coming to infect them with technology was a completely ludicrous idea and many branded her mad. Eventually she was well known within the quadrant as the Mad El Aurian preaching the death of the quadrant and she withdrew from her galaxy. It was during this time she set up her own lab, her own company Carberos Engineering Services. They specialised in repairs, builds and innovation for those who wanted to pay for it, after all she was not a charity and needed to survive. In 2365 The USS Enterprise was thrust across the galaxy and was forced into an engagement with those whom she had warned them all about, The Borg. Soon after that Starfleet sought Siora out and asked for any assistance, she could offer but she did not agree straight away remembering the doors that were slammed in her face at the start of the century. By 2370 she began to work with Starfleet as a civilian adviser. This lasted many years before it was decided, in 2382, that for Siora required a commission to be granted more access to resources and personnel than a civilian could muster. She spent years with the Starfleet Corps of Engineers in San Francisco, at Starbase One working with keen minds and unwavering desire in devising technologies both offensive and defensive to help protect those within the Federation, a home she had realised she missed without knowing. Siora had also kept using her contacts during this time to keep a close eye on how outside elements were moving. If there was anything to be said for her, she played a long game. It was like she was let out of a cage in 2393 as she was given command of a small vessel trying to piece together what happened in the Hobus system, if it was a deliberate act. It took 4 years but Siora could not find anything of substance. It was doing this Siora realised she missed open space and she opted to remain amongst the stars asking for a position in which she could utilise her skills in a different environment. It was said there was a position aboard a starship, the USS Majestic. The position of Operations Chief. |
