Hak turned around to look for the next gunman, expecting another immediate threat but finding no one. When he heard the mooring clamps on the smaller boat disengage and then the engines start up, he knew something wasn't right. Jane would never leave without him.

The small cruiser turned away from the house boat and ramped smoothly up to full throttle as it cut across the calm lake waters. Someone from the house boat had begun firing at the boat, but the shots landed harmlessly on the hull or in the water. The Bajoran woman still held Jane by phaser-point. "Captain Saulitis, your command codes," she said as she accessed a remote interface through a PADD.

Jane bare resisted rolling her eyes, "Like I'm just going to give you that information. Who are you anyway? What's so special about the Majestic?"

"Oh, honey, you're not really that naive," the woman said as she adjusted the setting on her pistol, then took out a hyposprayer filled with an unknown compound. "You've got five tri-cobalt warheads on board. Do you have any idea what your weaponry alone would go for on the black market?"

"No, I have absolutely no clue, please enlighten me." Jane responded, her eyes slightly wider as if she were keenly interested in such a topic. Whatever would keep the woman talking until she could hopefully be rescued or figure out a plan to rescue herself.

She laughed as she approached Jane with the hypo in one hand and the other still had the phaser trained on her. "Oh, I don't plan to sell it. We'll put it to good use, I promise."

Hak had been holding onto the railing of the getaway boat after diving for it when it pulled away from house boat. He'd managed to not get shot when the remaining armed men on the house boat opened fire at him and not his fingers were cramping up from the enduring effort of just holding on. Salt spray stung his face and he felt he needed to do something soon or risk dropping off into the water and being left behind. He made a final effort to get his foot up to the railing and then pulled himself up slowly and thudded onto the open deck.

The Bajoran woman heard the thud on the deck and turned her head slightly in that direction as she tried to work out what it was.

Typical Hak, he was too early. She had not managed to free her hands nor learn of the master plans of this . . . pirate. She was almost disappointed, almost. Jane felt though that she'd had enough of this woman's company and she really didn't want to find out what was in that hypospray.

"Marco, is that you?" the woman called out and waited a few seconds for an answer.

"I doubt it," Jane replied but when the Bajoran woman looked back at her Jane managed to connect the bottom of her boot with the woman's face. "Stupid houseboat, stupid vacation. Take time off work, it will be fun he says." But the minute she saw him again she knew she'd loose all of this anger. She quickly bent over and hauled herself up, the chair still attached to her back. "Great, now how do i get out." The Bajoran woman was already getting to her feet again.

"You didn't like the house boat?" Hak asked as he appeared in the doorway, still shirtless and in swim trunks but now also with a couple of long abrasions along his torso. He scanned the room quickly for the perpetrator.

"I liked the idea of it. But somehow your idea and my idea never do seem to match up completely. I wanted some sun, warm temperatures and the feeling of not being kidnapped." Jane replied quite seriously.

The Bajoran woman propped herself up on the floor and rubbed her jaw then raised her her weapon at the man in her doorway and squeezed the trigger, but Hak got to her just before it went off and kicked it out of her hand with his bare foot. "Fuuu. That hurt. Are you just going to stand there and complain are can you at least secure this woman?" Hak asked with a smirk.

"Oh right, you're still tied to the chair." He reached down and punched the woman solidly, knocking her out cold.

He shook his hand when that was done. "Hand and food hurt. This lady owes me."

Jane frowned at him. "You shouldn't hit women." She said quiet seriously. "What would your father say?" It felt good to have her hands free though, once she'd sat down again and Hak had untied them. She shook her arms a bit, rubbing the spot where the rope had made it sore.

"Never knew my father and my mom doesn't like to talk about him," Hak said, kissing his own knuckles to make them feel better. His eyes fell upon the controls. "Where is this boat headed, anyway? We should probably make sure it doesn't get there. I've had enough fighting for today."

"Yeah, you're probably right." Jane kissed his cheek and moved to help him figure out how to turn the boat around and head back for the houseboat.
