She and Hak were alive, and married now. She still couldn't believe she'd actually done it. Maybe Hak couldn't either, she hadn't asked him. Jane lounged in resort chair and closed her eyes to the sun. Okay, the entire vacation hadn't been a total disaster, just the first part and that was behind them now. She should be able to return to the ship with some sense of peace. Jane felt a presence above her, blocking the sun and she started, looking into the eyes of her first office. "Commander, to what do I owe the pleasure of your presence?" She didn't bother to stand up.

"Just passing through, Captain. Don't mind me." Shev said, looking at his boss. He coudn't help but notice a glow about her. "You look relaxed. This vacation agrees with you." he said, moving out of the sun.

"Hah, I am now. I suppose a little pirate battling does the soul good and it wears you out so that all you can do for the rest of the shoreleave is sit on a lounge chair and possibly get a sunburn. The question is Commander. Has it agreed with you?"

"It has indeed. The fresh air has done me a world of good." The Andorian grinned. He took a seat. "I'll sit down. Not block you're sun." As he did he noticed her hand. "Was that ring always there? Also call me Shev when it's just us or off duty."

"Oh, no, it hasn't." Jane had forgotten she was wearing it. "I did something a bit spontaneous, well not really I suppose. I've been dating him exclusively for twenty years. But we decided to tie the knot on this trip. I'm not sure I want the crew to know, they don't know the man after all. He's not a member of our crew."

"Congratulations!" Shev said. "I'm happy for you and your new husband. The marriage part, not the pirate." He said. "And you can count on me to keep the secret. Although a little celebration is called for."

"Yes, there will be a celebration when his mother finds out I'm sure. We can hold it on the Majestic and the entire crew can be invited. But for now, yes, I would appreciate your discretion. Thank you . . . Shev."

"Of course..Cap..Jane." He said, getting comfortable in his own chair.

"So," Jane said changing the subject. "What sorts of things have you discovered on this beautiful planet? So far I've had an adventure on a houseboat, visited two of our crew members at a ski lodge and gotten married on a pier overlooking the ocean."

"A little bit of everything." He smiled. "Swam a little. Got arrested." He laughed. "Apparently it's illegal to walk across grass here. They need a sign or something."

"Oh I heard about that!" Jane was trying her hardest not to look amused, she had a feeling it wasn't working. "Cultural misunderstanding and they did release you after dropping the charges. Isn't shore leave fun? I swear we need another one to recuperate from this."

Shev laughed.

She looked out at the water. Their leave was coming to an end and although a lot of exciting things had happened she was kind of looking forward to getting back to routine. "Well, I think I'll let you enjoy the view and get back to my new husband. Have a good evening Shev."

"Congratulations, Jane. Send him my regards."
