Razmi wandered the corridors of the ship. She might be lost, she should probably call someone about that but her mind was swimming and at the moment she didn't mind a little piece and quiet. She was seriously debating whether coming back with Stef had been the right move. She'd done it because after five years she couldn't imagine not having him in her life. And because she assumed he would need help raising Alecx. But what if he married Beata? Would she become obsolete?
Yes, he would tell her they were still friends. But Razmi was debating if that was enough for her. And if it wasn't how was she ever going to tell Stef? She couldn't possibly leave Alecx, she loved him as if he were her own child. His father was another matter entirely. She thought deep down she had always loved him as well. Since the day he'd woken up in her house.
She shivered as she acknowledged the feeling. If she hadn't just passed an Ensign in the corridor she might bang her head against the bulkhead. "Stupid, stupid, stupid." Razmi told herself. "You always do this, you hope and dream and beg and nothing ever turns out like you wanted." Now she was considered an old maid and what did she have to show for her life? A farm. She grew plants. Sure, it allowed the villagers to eat but now all that was gone. She had nothing to show for any of it and she was scared. What was she going to do?
