Sandy finally did all her reports. She was really tired, but there was one more official think she should be doing. and that was to go see Sekat. He was cured and doing much better. And personally she wanted to see how he was doing now. She stopped in front of the doors to his quarters. She bit her lip as she looked to the kinks in the doors. She didn't see any light coming through them. She pressed the chime and waited for Sekat to answer.

Feeling better than the past days, Sekat still didn't feel fit enough to return to duty. From what he had understood, he had balanced on the edge of death, a prospect that frightening him such that he had resolved to take his recovery process slow and seriously.

He turned, his long robes rustling with the movement as he faced the door. "Come," he called, certain he wasn't expecting any visitors.

The doors went over and she was almost pushed back with how dark it was in Sekat's room. She stood a moment in the light of the hallway. "Sekat she called inside." She noticed him in his robes standing there. She slowly stepped inside. She looked around nervously. There was a dim light in the room, but it wasn't enough for her. She stood frozen in the room, only moving her head around look scared at every corner in the room.

"Computer, lights," Sekat said as he crossed the room towards the door. The room lit up and he squinted briefly against the sudden wash of light. "Come in Sandy," he invited her, "I am sorry about the darkness, I had not even noticed the lights were on low. Are you alright?"

"Yes, I am fine now," She said, "I wasn't expected it. I just don't know what I should do with this. I have been so used to light for years now." She walked to his couch and sat down. "Forgive me, if I disturbed you, I just wanted to come check up on you. See if you were alright."

"You are never disturbing me Sandra, never." He sat down next to her, close enough to be of comfort but far enough away to allow her some personal space if she wanted it. And there is nothing here for you to fear, you know that. This is a safe place, I promise." He paused. "As far as how I am doing, I am feeling better but not altogether as I should be. You may check, if you wish."

She took out her medical tricorder and scanned him. "I can't find nothing in your system anymore, so I guess it might be just fatigue." She put the tricorder away and scooted a bit closer. She took his hands. "I do feel safer with you. Maybe you are able to help where others couldn't," She said a bit hopeful.

"I already promised I would help you. And so far you have been doing very well. Perhaps the transition from the light hall to the dark quarters was too great. Would you be alright with me lowering the level of ilumination a fraction? It will not be dark, but it will be darker."

She was a bit nervous by that, but then she took a deep breath as she held his hands tighter. "Yes, you can now. But please be close to me." She waited for Sekat to do it.

"I am not going anywhere," the Vulcan promised, wrapping an arm around her. "Computer reduce ilumination by ten percent," he said, upon which the light dimmed a fraction. Not enough to offer darkness but enough so it wasn't that touch too bright for him. "How is this?"

Sandy sat quiet next to him, as she tried to control her breathing. She was still holding his hands and she was squeezing them. She breathed in and out and then said, "Yes, I can handle this." She was freaking out inside, but she was trying her best to hide it.

Due to their touching hands however, Sekat was very much aware of her emotional state. "You do not have to hide your fear," he told her, "but there is nothing to fear here. It is just you and I, there are no odd sounds to be heard here and trust me, my hearing is better than yours."

She sighed and smiled to him. "You're right. There is nothing here to fear, it is just you and me." She looked to their hands. She moved a bit closer to him. "Maybe...maybe you should hold me." She slowly let go of his hands. She trembled as she let them go. She looked up to him.

Sekat pulled the arm that was already wrapped around her a little tighter, pulling her more towards him. "I will hold you as long as is needed, he said, pulling his other arm around her as well. "Relax," he murmured, "open your senses, feel that there are no ghosts here. Focus on your breathing, focus on the sound of your own heartbeat."

Sandy closed her eyes as she let him pull her close to him. She lay her head on his shoulder. As she closed her eyes two tears rolled down her cheeks. As she felt her breathing got slower. She sighed a few times. And her heart slowed down. She never felt this way during any of her therapies. Most of the time she avoided them. She refused to do anything. With the lights only dimmed she would have walked out immediately. But right now She felt so comfortable she didn't want to run. Sekat did something with her in a positive way. "Sekat..." She whispered. "Is it ok if I stay here tonight?"

"You can stay here anytime you want to," he assured her, "you are my mate, are you not?"

Never being in a relationship before, she wasn't called someone's mate before either. She leaned so close to could push him over, but not only was he taller than her, he was also stronger than her, so he stayed in place. She looked up to him, feeling him so close. "You are my mate." She said starting loud and ended whispering. "I love you." She whispered and put her arms around him.

Of course he did know that, her feelings were very much on the surface regarding that, and he did feel the same. "Sandra..." He made her look up at him. "Why not stay here?" he asked slowly, his expression ernest. "I mean...permanently."

Sandy had to think about that a moment as she stared to his chest. Then she looked up to him again. "Why don't you come live with me. I mean as senior officer I do get bigger quarters." She looked a bit hopeful to him.

Though it wasn't very traditional, it didn't require a second thought. "That is also acceptable," he replied with a smile, "your quarters are bigger than mine, for certain." He could understand her request, she would be more comfortable in a space she was familiar with.

She crawled on his lap and kissed him as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Tonight I want to be with you here. It's late," she said when their lips parted. "Why don't you show me your bed? And maybe I could sleep in a bit more darkness tonight." She said that last bit slowly.

Standing up, he set her on her feet, then took her hand. "As you wish," he said, "and remember, I will be right there. You are not alone." Slowly, he drew her into his bedroom, closing the door behind them.
