Beata pressed the button to Stef's quarters and waited for him to answer. She had a lot on her mind, she was hoping they could talk or maybe have dinner. With the away team missing on the planet, their rescue and the Majestic leaving Marga III forever, it had been a whirlwind of activity and emotions. "Hi." She said when the door opened. "Do you have plans tonight? Want to get some dinner?"

"Bee..." The Vulcan's eyes seemed to smile at just seeing her. "Come in," he added, stepping aside to invite her in. "No I do not have plans for tonight. Rather, I did not until you asked, what do you have in mind?"

"Umm, dinner in the lounge, then a walk? Is there someone who could watch Alecx?" Beata really liked the boy, but she kind of wanted it to just be the two of them, like old times. She hoped that wasn't selfish of her but she was still struggling with the news that Stef was a father.

"Yes, I have acquired a holonanny to watch him while I on duty. I am certain she could watch him then too." He could see, and sense that something was troubling her. "What is it?" he asked plainly, lifting her face up towards him. "Something is bugging you...will you tell me?"

"I just want to spend some time with you alone, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around everything that happened." Beata said honestly. "I want to separate myself from that for one night. I'm not pretending, just . . . ." She didn't know what she was doing really. It might not make a difference but it was where her heart was leading her.

"I know how you feel Bee. I have a hard time adjusting too, even though I miss you, I have always missed you, I do have Alecx to consider now. I never stopped loving you, please believe that. Even Svara knew, and accepted this, that I was never fully hers." He pulled her close to him, burying his face in her hair. "We just...need to find a new way for us."

Bee sighed and wrapped her arms around him. "Yeah. Well it starts with taking me to dinner. And then talking, maybe a walk afterwards. Baby steps." She said simply. "Shall we make it a formal dinner? Dress up?" Her eyes lit up a little bit at the prospect of it.

Sensing her excitement, Stef nodded. "Formal and dress up," he agreed with a smile. "Anywhere particular you would like to go?" Obviously if it had to be anything fancy he would need to arrange for some holodeck time. The venue itself was also determining for what he would need to wear. Though with dress up she probably meant a 3-piece suit.

Beata bit her lip for a moment and thought about it. Can we do something really silly?" She asked him. "Like a masquerade or a ball? Can you dance Mr. Stef?" She teased lightly. "Always wanted to go to one of those and never got the chance, not a real one anyway. Orphanages don't have that kind of resources."

"I know the basics but I am no expert," Stef warned her with a chuckle. "A masquerade ball, like Venetian style? Or Renaissance?" He gave her a kind smile. "You are not in an orphanage anymore Bee, you are your own person, you can do whatever you want."

"Hmmm, I don't know. I've never thought about it. Venetian I guess. I know I can, just pointing out that I've never been to one before." Beata bounced on her toes happily. "I'll have to go change. Meet you back here in 30 minutes. Or actually, can I just replicate something here and change?"

"It would save us considerable time if you did just change here," Stef answered, clearly amused by her enthusiasm. "You can use my bedroom if you prefer." He would use the living room, to give her some privacy.

Beata entered Stef's bedroom but she didn't dawdle. She only stood in front of the replicator for a moment before making a choice. She choose a light pink ball gown that was lightweight and easy to dance in. A gold mask for her face and she replicated some pink ribbon to braid and weave into her hair. She tapped on the wall lightly, "Are you decent, I'm coming out." she said, not wanting to speak too loudly for fear of waking Alecx. Beata held the ribbon in her hand and contemplated how to fix her hair.

Stef was just in the process of buttoning up a creamy white shirt when she walked back in. He smirked at her as he sized her up. "And what if I was not decent?" he asked, "there is nothing here, that you have not already seen before Bee. You do not have to wait for me to be dressed before walking in." He gave her a second once over. "That dress suits you," he said as he struggled with the tie.

"Doesn't mean you don't want some privacy while you get dressed." Beata said simply. "And thanks." She watched him for a moment and then stepped forward to do the tie for him. "A lost art," she explained. "A lot of men don't wear these anymore. I had an old friend teach me how to do it."

"It is not an accessory we wear a lot, being Vulcan. I do prefer the simplicity and comfort of a robe, but as this is a formal dinner I can hardly wear a robe, now can I?" He arched an eyebrow at her in question.

"Actually," she said, stepping back. "I think you should wear what you are most comfortable in. I'm going to run along ahead and begin the program, make changes as I see fit and I'll just meet you there. Is that acceptable?"

The young Vulcan nodded, reaching to touch her cheek with the back of his fingers. "I will change then, I do feel more comfortable in traditional Vulcan wear. Give me ten minutes and I will be ready."
