Timeline: MD 01- 1100 Hours
1047 words - 2.1 OF Standard Post Measure
"Commander Th zivv. No.Th's se. No, that's not right." A young shuttle plot said. She appentently was having trouble with her passengers name. Much to her passengers amusement. And to her own annoyance. "Whichever!" she said in frustration. "We're approaching the USS Majestic. She'll be in view in a minute." She said, smiling.
Shev smiled back. "Oh? Thank you, Ensign." he said. "and just say Commander Shev. It's easier."
"True that," the pilot said under her breath. Shev let it slide as he gazed out the type 9's viewport. There the ship was docked, looking at her namesake...Majestic
The rest of the trip waas uneventful basically. Standard docking, and shuttle departure. After which Shev set forth on a more or less self guided tour.
Alone . . . Jane enjoyed the quiet time. Once the ship was full and they were on their way people would be nodding to her in the corridors and bringing reports to her, looking to her to say or order the next thing. She was going to fully enjoy the invisibility of the moment. Her hand traced the bulkheads as if the ship would speak to her if given enough affection. She knew she was being ridiculous but did it anyway. Hak always approved of her being herself, no matter how odd.
Hearing a noise behind her she stopped and turned in that direction. There didn't appear to be anything there. Jane mused that it was probably Lieutenant Murphy out for revenge. She was on deck thirteen after all. Returning to her original course she found herself shoulder to face with a large blue body. Jane let out a squeal and jumped back, her arms coming up in front of her defensively.
Shev couldnt help but jump. He clerly wasnt expecting someone to bump into him. Let alone squeal like that. He spun around and saw a human Lieutenant Commander startled and ready to fight. He clutched his chest and took deep breaths. ""Uh..hello? he said. "You can put your hands down by the way." he offered an awkward smile.
Jane resisted the urge to fall to the floor in relief. "So sorry," she mumbled. "You're very light on your feet, didn't hear you coming." She straightened up and made her heart stop thumping with a deep breath of air into her lungs. "Oh, you must be Commander Th'aziavak?" She pronounced it perfectly as she'd been practicing ever since she'd picked him from a lineup of first officers.
"First off, excellent pronounciation." he grinned. "Yes, that's me. Then you must be the Captain, Commander Saulitis. Its a great pleasure." Shev said. "I go by Shev most of the time, however." he offered.
It would be improper to offer her first name to the commander though it never bothered her when someone adressed her by her given name. "Likewise," she said. There was a slight color to her cheecks as she realized she'd let out the most un command-like noise he'd probably ever heard. "I was just taking a bit of a tour, would you like to join me?"
"I'd be delighted." Shev replied.
Jane let out a breath, at least he appeared friendly and hadn't seemed to take offense by her outburst of fear upon first seeing him. "Well, I think we've both seen enough of deck thirteen, let's just start working our way up shall we?" She started to walk, a leisurely stroll as neither of them had to be anywhere soon. "What made you decide to come early? I'm sorry, I wasn't informed of your arrival or I would have met you."
"It's ok." Shev said."Deck thirteen? By all means!" He laughed. "As for early. I guess that was drilled into me at the academy. Had this PT instructor who was imperial guard formerly. Being Andorian myself he made me get there early." He grinned.
"Oh come now, be honest. There was a pretty ship and you just couldn't wait to explore it. Don't worry I can keep your secret. It is, after all, mine as well." Every other Andorian she'd ever met was secretive and cold but Shev seemed downright jovial, she supposed that was a good sign.
Shev smiled. "Guilty I guess." He said.
"Uhuh." Jane gestured for him to go first when they got to the more narrow door of a turbolift. "Tell me about yourself Commander."
"What do you want to know?" Shev asked. "Hardly ever left the homeworld until I joined Starfleet. Where I decided on science believe it or not." he said. "I have limited "command" experience. If you call supervisiong a lab of four people "command" he said, using the air quotes.
His mannerisms were interesting, a little more Human that she would have expected. "Hmm," she said. She'd read his service record, she knew all this already. "Are you mated? Do you have any children? Did you make any friends at the academy?" All surface stuff but she was curious so she asked.
"No children yet,but yes I'm mated." he nodded. "Tradition and all that." he began. He cleared his throat. "As for the Academy, I had a little "mini crew" you might say. Red squad was the elite, we ere like the "Lets have fun" squad." He laughed.
Jane raised her eyebrows, "That sounds like a recipe for getting into trouble." She held up a finger. "But you weren't kicked out of the academy so that tells me nothing was proved."She smiled and continued walking. "What have you heard about me?"
"Heard you had a helm background. And had to finish a conference because your CO had some kind of accident. Transporter mishap?"
"That story always travels fast, it was the opening ceremony of a celebration of a new wildlife sancutary. And yes, he actually sprouted feathers. He's a very nice man so I try not to laugh too much about it. They fixed him all right in the end."
Shev muffled a chuckle. "That's good." he said. "Would've hated to live like that." he said, amused to say the least.
Jane let out a smug grin. "That's life Commander, we all carry our marks, some are just more visible than others."
