Razmi tossed and turned. The first few nights she was on Majestic she slept like a baby, but she thought that was because it she had been really tired, the stress of moving and the planet phasing again. But now she seemed to be aware of every little sound. The engines made noise even though no one believed that she could hear them. There was a buzzing behind one panel in her bedroom and even putting a pillow over her head wouldn't work because it wouldn't stay in place. She was tired, so tired but she couldn't sleep.

Hadn't Tadez said that she could come by anytime. Razmi was sure he meant while he was at work. It was the middle of the night. She could go to Stef, but she didn't want to wake Alecx. Razmi sighed and decided to get up. She wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and went to sit in the chair in the living room. Before she sat down she took a deep breathe and tapped the communications panel on the wall. "Razmi to Lieutenant Tadez?" She winced, hoping she hadn't woken him. Perhaps by some miracle he would be awake.

The night was long and Tadez recalled reading about a submarine in the steam age; the Vern book about the Captain who forsook the surface world for teh sea. Making a fabulous vessel well ahead of times and forward thinking for the actual time era it was written... when the sound of his name being called, but it was not the computer but a sweeter voice and it roused him to answer. He wanted to think it was her but why the call when he was sleeping but he hoped it was her and thought it her voice even his being half awake.

Razzi?" He asked while trying to get all his brain cylinders to fire in order and let him wake. "Are you okay, is there something I can do for you?"

"I uh, hope I didn't wake you. I just can't sleep. I can feel the engines running, there's this buzzing noise coming from a wall in my quarters and it's all driving me crazy!" She huffed out a breath and fell back against the couch with a soft thud.

"Insomia is a common problem." Yadez said as he listen to her. "You have heard the noises and such that keeping you awake, if I might ask are you in bed now?" He had a point. "The reason I ask is to see if it is louder in other parts or the who;e of your quarters?" Tadez paused a moment.

"No, I'm on the couch. I moved since I decided I was never going to get any sleep. But . . . I guess I can go back in the bedroom. I don't notice it out here but then again I'm usually moving around and doing stuff during the day so I don't noticed the noise. It's only at night when things are still."

"SO you can be comfortable on your couch?" Tadez asked as he was becoming awake. "SO when did this start; the noise bothering you?" He continued, "I know of a trick or two that might help but they are ... not often resorted to." He chuckled.

"Well I haven't tried to sleep on the couch yet so I'm not sure. Umm, the noise started bothering me a few days after I came on board." She paused as she glanced around. "Neenyo," she said kind of softly as if their conversation might be heard by someone else. Do you want to just come over? I mean then you could listen. If you want, I know it's the middle of the night."

"For you Razzi I will be over in a couple of minutes; need to not be bare foot or might get wrong idea." He chuckled as he got out of bed and walked to get a cotton tee shirt in black with his silk navy pants that were for excersise but looked good enough to wear in public he spoke as he walked around. 'Why did you not report it earlier?" He went to get the slip on loafers, snatched his comm badge off the dresser then a quick brush of his hair as no one wants to ee bed head in the middle of the night. "I am on my way out." He told her while crossing to the door.

She shrugged, realized he couldn't hear her and then said out loud, "Because I think it's just me. It's a new place and I'm used to my old bed, in my cabin, by myself." It was at this point that Razmi realized she really needed to actually put some clothes on. A nightgown would not do to receive him. She dashed to her bedroom and threw on clothes at random before running to the door to meet him. Her hair looked a little windblown but she ran her fingers through it and left it down. It had gotten quite long, was halfway down her back now and had just a little bit of natural curl to it. "Hi," she said. "Thanks for coming, I'm sure it's nothing but I'm so tired and I just want to sleep."

"This is nice." He said as he entered the door and kissed her hand. "I had half expected a housecoat?" He chuckled. "You are having trouble sleeping if you are already dressed?" He smiled and look around and tried to listen for abnormal sounds?

"Uh, no, I got dressed when you said you were coming and could be here in two minutes." Razmi said, blushing to the roots of her hair when he kissed her hand. She resisted the urge to sigh as she welcomed him in. "Just a low buzzing. MAybe I have good hearing or everyone else is used to the sound? I could ask Zeria, she came on board from the same planet but she has a . . . mate and well maybe they share a room so she might not notice any sound." Razmi felt like she was rambling.

"Everyone is an individual and thusly what you hear that keeps you awake is only for you perhaps?" He was listening; the Air filtration breeze wisked through the vents; the subtle vibrations of the floor as the power grid was active seemed unlikely unless one concentrated. "Tell me about where you slept before coming to the ship?" He asked the logical question. "Describe what you heard and felt while at you... cabin was it?"

Razmi sat down on the edge of the bed and closed her eyes. "It was just a small narrow bed, a bench really. I put pads of straw under it but it had a cover over it so it wouldn't poke me. It was soft and warm. I know not nearly as fancy as all this. The cabin was usually cool and there was a small breeze in the summer because I would leave a window open. In the winter it was sometimes bitter cold but I had many blankets and animal skins to cover me and keep me warm. Sometimes I put my head under the covers so my nose wouldn't be red in the morning. She opened her eyes and rubbed the tip of her nose in front of Tadez. "It was peaceful and very quiet. The only sounds I heard were the wind, an occasional bird or the rain coming down."

Tadez smiled in a very sly way.

"Computer; drop temperature a few degrees." He started. "Air flow to give fifteen percent air agitation." He wait a couple of seconds as the air seemed to swirl a bit as though a subtle breeze from outside just peek through a bit while the room seemed to get a little cooler with the artificial breeze just tickling. "Add relaxation program of a gentle breeze through pines low volume." He wait as the faint moving of pine branches seemed to be just outside the portal. "Is hat a bit better?"

Razmi looked at him like he was a genius. "I had no idea you could do that." She blushed again. "Now I feel as if I'm in your debt. Can I get you something to eat or drink?"

"You can ask Operations for a smaller bed if you like and have it made to how you want it.... tomorrow during the day." He smiled and chuckled. "Check your bed and see if you still hear the noise while I wait here for a moment as you are supposed to be able to sleep soon remember?" He joked.

"It's already better, I can tell. And no, I don't want to cause trouble. Besides . . . what if someday I find someone to share the bed?" She was amazed that she did not blush this time. But Razmi really wanted someone, she had for a long time and she thought, just maybe, she might find someone who would accept her while she traveled the stars with Stef. "Anyway, it's late and I've kept you up, I'm sorry about that. But I really appreciate your help. I'm in your debt."

Tadez moved to the doorway and lean on it looking at Razmi.

"No debt between us Razzi and when you need me you know I will be there right?" He winked. "As for finding someone to share the bed; be a fortunate man as a lady's affection are not to be taken lightly." He told her. "Though when you do find them you might not need as many simulated animal skins and blankets with someone to keep you warm." He chuckled. "Kind of nature's way of keeping people warm at night." He joked. "Of course you can adjust this place to any time you like so might not need the blankets or the person; only if you want to, your choice."

As much confidence as he usually showed, Razmi rather thought he was rambling after her admission. She smiled and took two steps towards where he was leaning against the wall, stood on her tip toes and kissed him on the cheek. "Good night Neenyo."

"Sleep well Razzi." He took her hand and kissed it farewell. "Always call if you need," He said before turning to leave.
