ON

The Bar was a nice hot spot on the promenade; the fact the Ferengi running it had invested the initial Latinum to get a prime spot seemed like an over-extension of funds until a year later when it was picking up major business. Norbin; the Owner and Proprietor of the establishment.

Norbin is a 'healthy' Ferengi who does not have to tend the bar at all times and with the business he can hire the help he can pay enough to be trustworthy to an extent. His diversification in Business makes him a a favorite in this Station to the Grand Nagus; he paid his share willingly so not to arouse any suspicion.

Sitting in 'His table; an elevated platform allowing him to watch over his domain he often 'entertained' clients and other business associates.

"Why do I let you at my table?" Norbin asked himself more so than the fellow one of the Ferengi Race sitting at his table. "You know the Rule..."

"A Ferngi without profit is not a Ferengi at all." Qurrac said. "They are the rungs that you step upon to climb the lad-der of success." He gave a toast of his drink. "Glad to not be among that number."

"Just pay your back tributes and you could be again." Norbin pointed out.

"I owe nothing." Qurrac said before taking a sip of his drink. "I did not business thus no requirement of tribute." He smiled. "And as a customer I am not obligated to give tribute but the one I do business with has to."

Qurrac was in more casual clothing; upper casual as it would not be polite to have a better suit than another that is potentially a business associate. He sat back in the booth and looked at the Ferengi Norbin.

"You do pay full price."

"I pay what it is worth of I find a deal that better suits me." Qurrac sigh. "So what business do you have with a Ferngi who is no Ferengi. "Do you wish to be safe as a deal is only a deal among Ferengi?"

"I have..." Norbin had to think for the proper words. "Heard there are Ferengi making great profits from the Hue-mons of the Federation and that a certain ..." He gave a sly look to Qurrac. "Individual has been wasting his valuable time on the docks of late."

Qurrac knew his presence on the docks would be noted both because he is a Ferengi is a rarity even on a station while working a job. To be just making observations and asking questions had not gotten him as far as he liked but it did open doors that he had hoped.

"I was merely making sure the Labor laws for the Federation Personnel were being followed." Qurrac informed. "You know that auditing the businesses on the station does need to be done." He return the sly glance to Norbin. "I also happen to notice those that seem to have more latinum to throw around than the wages they are contracted for."

"I would know nothing of that." Norbin waved a Dabo Girl over and motioned her to sit next to Qurrac. "It is all a legitimate business that I run. But there are others that I am sure are not so careful about their dealings with Hue-mons. They have been charging Friend prices and getting them of late.

Qurrac recalled the old rule 'A friend in need is 3x the cost.

"I am sure." The deltan female about five foot six and slightly taller than Qurrac; rare for them to lower their standars to pleasing Ferengi; Qurrac wondered what bribery or shifty deal brought this lovely woman to this state as she did get closer to him and flashed a winning smile. "I was not aware of any audits by the Federation into your business?"

Norbin laughed with a slight nod to the girl; who started to coo in closer to Qurrac and flew lightly on his right Lobe. This was distracting and part of any business transaction Qurrac guessed with Norbin; keep the customer off-balance while putting down terms. The halter top dress with low V-neck and short flared skirt did catch the eye he had to admit. She had an attractive figure and the bluest eyes he had seen in a woman for a long time; Deltans are beautiful to start with and this one was pouring on her charms as instructed.

"She has very good lips and lungs." Qurrac said as he noticed his bicep was becoming her pillow of sorts; Deltan women are said to be quite on par with Orion and Klingon women in their ferocious nature of passions.

In Federation service they take a vow of celibacy for a reason. Qurrac wondered if the anti-pheromone for Orions would still the deltan attraction any? He had come here prepared; he thought, and now had second guesses as to how wise he is with that department?

"She is a lovely girl." Norbin smiled proudly.

"How much for her Contract?" She stopped blowing on his lobe abruptly, a little gasp of her own. "Indentured Servants are legal as it is a business deal and not slavery." He glanced over hsi shoulder to the Deltan. "I hardly think a Lady would lower herself without a contract deal?"

Norbin snapped his fingers and motioned her to be away, she look hurt and stunned at the same time; it was a riot to see such things.

"What is your name?" Qurrac asked despite what Norbin tried to do. "WE are talking a transaction so you might stay right there; I have never had a Deltan to socialize with." He casually look back to Norbin.

"I do not do business with a Non-Ferengi..." Norbin defended.

"No, but you will for a profit." Qurrac corrected. "Did you not smell the Latinum on the recirculated wind?" Qurrac saw the hesitation and that streak of Ferngi Greed. "Too bad you cannot do 'Business' with me so what say I just offer you a Hue-mon style gift exchange, anything you might tell me..." He glanced again to the Deltan woman who gave him a very suspicious look. "And maybe this little lady can come with me when I leave?" He took out a pouch and dumped three gems into his hand to let the light glsiten off the cut stones. "and this is my gift to you."

"When in the Federation..." Norbin agreed , never taking his eyes off the gems.

[Prominade soon after]

"WHy did you come to ... do that, get me out I mean?" The deltan asked. "I am Marceleen... I am still in your debt.

"Not really..." Qurrac tossed the PADD with teh contrat for her into a recycle unit. "You are in the Federation , technicalities are frown upon; he played on Deltan honor to keep you." He nod to her and took a small gem that had remain in his pouch. "This should get you a start and all." He nod and started to turn.

SHe took hold of his arm and stopped him. "I am in your debt for getting me out of there, you bought out my contract." She looked away. "Without knowing why I agreed to it. it did embarrass her for a few seconds before she amade eye contact again. "You are a strange Ferengi Male, you paid a high price for what?"

"Freedom of a lovely lady and some information I wanted." He shrugged. "It was putting something soiled to good use." He nod again. "I am yours; you bought my debt, I must pay it back."

"Not that kind of man; you may keep your virtue now, Federation creed you are free to do as you like." He pointed out.

"I like you..." She kissed him deeply for a long enough moment to thoroughly break his train of thought. "I do not let my debts remain unpaid."

"No need to 'Work it off."

"It is a way of giving thanks..." She mold herself to him and kissed him as only Deltan females can bring to a man.

He would follow the information in the morning. He savored the kiss and thought. 'Maybe in the Late afternoon...
