Commander Hakala arrived on the bridge of the Majestic with a security officer as escort. For as much a he insisted that he needed to go to the bridge, security was equal in their insistence that he not be left alone while he station was openly attacking the Majestic.
"The jamming seems to be affecting all channels and transporters, Ma'am," one of the bridge officers was saying.
Jane looked up as the turbolift doors opened. "I take it you didn't have any luck either?" She gave the security guard a nod as if to say that was enough and that he could go.
The turbolift doors opened shortly after, Lily stepping onto the bridge.
"Hello Captain, while tending to some superficial wounds on Lieutenant Trevor of security, she told me that we're having some difficulties. Is there something I can help with?"
Jane frowned, not because the question had been asked but because she wasn't sure how to answer it. "Perhaps Doctor. We've had a bit of a security issue. Any chance you have some thoughts to share on how to stop someone from doing something without hurting them or others?"
" I might have an idea or two. One that might actually work. We are dealing with an attempt to breach the ship? Depending on where the attackers are at, like say the airlock, we could fill that area with anesthizine gas. I think that could be taken care of using the environmental system which leads into the airlock? Or could even do something like tear gas which could render them helpless with eyes burning, and messing with the lungs making them cough. Honestly though. I think it would work out better wih the anesthizine gas."
"What about just outside the ship?" She turned around to those working around her. "I assume there are some kind of ports that we could pipe the gas through?" Jane felt like she should know this but it just wasn't possible in her busy life to know every tiny detail about the ship.
"That would actually be the environmental system where the dock and the airlock are connected. When they are coupled together, a small pocket environment is created, so the gas could be sent out to them. Anyone close to the area of the gas will drop, and whatever they are using to try to breach the ship with, will drop as well. And anyone getting into that said area will be too fuzzy to pick up the breaching device. A tactic like mustard gas or tear gas to cover a large area was used in Earth's history. The anesthizine gas is odorless and colorless, they won't know what hit them." Another of the crew spoke up.
"Perfect," Jane relaxed a bit. "Let's do it." She sat down in her chair for the first time, confident that her crew could take care of this little problem. "Sit down Mr. Hakala, everything will be fine. We have a plan."
