Fun and Games (Part I)

The concourse seemed like it was teaming with a lot of life, real people intermixed with holograms. "This reminds me of being at a carnival or even an amusement park. Everywhere we look there is something going on." nodding towards a shop owner hawking their wares.

"Oh look! There's a restaurant we can get something to eat at!" excitedly pulling Nichelle in that direction. "And we don't have to wait in line." In a matter of minutes they were seated at a table, Lily poring over the menu. "I am so hungry." she stated to Nichelle.

Lily ordered a large meal which included salad, appetizers, steak, shrimp and lobster, potatoes and gravy, rolls and soup. for dessert she ordered her pie and ice cream. For drink she ordered a sparkling lemonade

"What are you going to order?" Lily asked Nichelle.

"I will follow your lead; the diversity of tastes your ordered sounds fun" Vannan had loved hanging around Lily; the shared spice of life. "You picked a good place here. " Winking her approval. "Just time to be ladies on the town; letting our hair down a bit and ..." She paused. "What had we planned or are we just winging it?" She asked honestly.

The waiter took Nichelle's order and left. Lily turned and answered.

"Well, there didn't seem much of a plan for shore leave other than looking at the shops and getting food and pie. I'm just winging things, to be honest." Lily chuckled. "Honestly the last time I went on shore leave, I went out and did some shopping, bought some books and a dress or two. Got a massage, a pedicure and a manicure and got my hair done. Yes, I decided to go all girly, just to do something different. I didn't have a girl pal, I could do those things with so I went alone." Lily shrugged. "I did go out and go dancing, that was enjoyable, then I went back to the ship and slept by myself, even though I had offers to have some company. I wasn't interested in a one night stand. Just nothing I wanted to indulge in."

"Dinner, dancing and shopping are all fun but what about the open areas; parks pool side and all the other fun things?" Vannan interjected. "If we are to go dancing we need new dresses and shoes." She got a sly grin. "WHy not have the hair done and all that before we wear out the bottoms of the new shoes and then Pool side to recover tomorrow?"

"Let's enjoy our meal, take a walk about to see the parks, as you suggested. See what happens, and tomorrow we can get our hair done get a dress and the whole shebang and go dancing. Day after tomorrow I need to go back to the ship. I've got an appointment I need to keep, and must not be derelict in my duty as CMO." Lily remarked, with a firm nod.

"You make it sound like that is a bad thing." Vannan winked. "I intend to have enough fun that going back the day after tomorrow will be the vacation from shore leave." Looking about the restaurant and noting how man biologicals were present over the Holograms. "Wonder if they get stock shipments of a hydroponics for the fresh pies?"

"I don't know."Lily responded honestly.

Looking over to the waiter who brought over their food, Lily said, "thank you."

She immediately started eating, her appetite rather large, she really hadn't had much to eat since she had arrived at the USS Majestic. "This is good!" she exclaimed, between mouthfuls of food, at least making sure she didn't have food in her mouth whilst speaking. "I am going to apologize in advance, I'm not going to be much of a talker until the food has been consumed." giving a chuckle. and resumed eating.

Lily certainly loved the flavor of the food, making sure to eat more slowly to savor the cuisine. However it only took her about twenty minutes to eat her dinner. The best was last, the pie and ice-cream. She savored each bite, then set her fork down, leaning back in her chair. "That was delicious." she said to the waiter, and to Nichelle.

Patting her stomach, Lily laughed. "Definitely going to have to walk this off." she paid for both her meal and Nichelle's.

"Thank you Lily." Vannan smiled as brightly as her face wold allow. "That was an excelland meal; like Papa said' the quieter the table the better the food." She all but giggled. "It is nice to have some freedom from the same old Jeffery Tubes." She commented as she gather her purse. "How about a walk to a really big window to look at the stars and try and find places we have been?" She winked. "Just enjoy the moments?"

"A look at the stars would be nice, though I don't know if I will see the places I've been to from here. This is actually undiscovered country for me. " Lily stated, as she walked alongside Nichelle. "And you are welcome, it has been quite an enjoyable shoreleave so far."

When they came to the observation deck where they can look out at the stars, Lily breathed out a sigh of awe. "This is just so perfect, almost wish I had a boyfriend sharing this with him. Am glad I am here with a friend to enjoy it as well. " leaning her arms on the safety rail as she looked out in space. "You probably have seen more than I have in this area."

"Boyfriends are over -rated." Vannan said calmly and nudged Lily playfully. "Gal Pals are there for you all the time and do not quit calling because you don't want to 'play house' when they do."

"Oh? Well someday I hope to find someone and have some kids. Sounds to me like you've met some real winners. I had a boyfriend once, a few years back during college. We had a falling out and well, I hadn't had a boyfriend since. Just some guy pals, who knew that I wasn't interested in them romantically. They just didn't have the right chemistry, that worked with mine. And I had explained to them the details, and they accepted my stance and were okay with it. Besides a few of them knew my older brothers so didn't want to have to deal with them, where the baby sister was concerned." she rolled her eyes and laughed, nudging Nichelle back.

"Tell you what, lets head to the hotel and get some sleep. We can go get into some 'mischief' tomorrow."

"Sleep does have a nice ring to it." Vannan said and took another look at the stars for a second. "Somewhere out there is a good one, just hope we navigate his direction." She giggled.

As soon as the ladies got to their room, it didn't take long for Lily to get ready for bed. A quick shower to get clean and change into her pajamas. Her pajamas consisted of an short sleeved blue baggy v neck tee shirt, and black fuzzy pajama bottoms which reached to her ankles. She had a pair of black fuzzy slippers, which had cat ears, nose, and whiskers done in pink. The eyes of the slippers were blue in color. She took the slippers off, and climbed into bed. She leaned over towards where her slippers were.

"Now don't you dare decide to explore the station. I don't want to lose you, like last time." then looked at Nichelle with a grin. "You never know when slippers like to explore."

"At least they go together." Vannan was curled up on the sofa in her powder blue sleeveless silk night shirt, legs tucked up under her. "Be a shame to have only one about when you walked around." She teased. "I enjoy not having to wear anything on my feet after spending so much time in tents and slleeping in conduits." SHe giggled. "Even the station is comfortable, you would not believe how cold a cave gets when it is the only shelter out of a heavy rain."

Looking to her friend she finished brushing out her hair.

"Having a shower every night and soft place to rest, the cabins were little more than ramshackle structures meant to keep the weather out, a good storm and they leaked and one felt the wind." SHe shook her hair out and fluffed it a bit. "Camping out is fun on occasion but I much prefer controlled environment." She winked. "And if those two... she point at the slippers. "decide to go wandering I cannot see fit to go after them in a short nightshirt, especially if they use the Jefferies to move about."


" I know what it is like to camp out in a cave. " Lily grinned. "When going out to forage for particular herbs, the weather can sneak up on you and get you wet through and through." she looked at Nichelle's outfit. "I will agree with you on that, your pj's would be rather cold traversing through the jefferies tubes to go after my kitty slippers. No worries, the slippers will probably stay right next to me, well that is near the bed. I do like going barefoot, but I like my feet to be warm too, and not all calloused. Not good to have hard calloused feet when doing a massage with them."

She laid back on the bed, looked towards Nichelle, stifling a yawn. "Well... I'll see you in the morning." turning off her lamp, and pulling the blanket over her shoulder. Soon her breathing turned to that of someone sleeping.
