Reflecting back on the events that brought them to this point, Jexasi decided that she needed to make a trip to Sickbay. The doctor had been right in her protest of the events that led to Stef's arrest, but Jex had only acted the way she did in order to protect the young man. In one hand, she carried a PADD which contained a collection of the most famous tales and stories from Betazed. She had heard that Sandra enjoyed reading, and this was meant as a peace offering.
As the proximity detectors opened the doors to Sickbay, Jex stepped in. She paused for a moment as she looked for Sandra. She did not immediately see the Sandra, so she chose to lean next to the wall beside the door until the doctor appeared.
Sandy had been in her office. She had some paper work to do before she would go on shore leave with Sekat. She put the last PaDD in her desk drawer and got up to get a drink from the replicator. She then noticed the security chief at the entrance to sickbay. She walked out and said, "Lieutenant Rai, is everything alright? Can I help you?"
"Actually, I wanted to apologize," Jex started, "for the last time I was here." Nodding toward the biobed that Stef had occupied, she continued, "I should never have gone over your head, it was very disrespectful and could have set a dangerous precedent."
"Oh, well, apology accepted," Sandy said. "You're arguments to me were valid too. I like to apologize for my reaction as well. Just try not to have that happen again. We can discuss this as adults and senior colleagues." She smiled.
"Well, if there is nothing else, I have to finish this," Sandy said, "Maybe you can buy me a drink some time, and I can buy you one. And we can talk about other things. Case closed I think." She sat down behind her desk. "Oh and Lieutenant. Thank you for coming to me personally."
Jex just nodded and said, "No problem, doctor." She then walked out of the office, leaving the doctor to work.
