Isabella walked into sickbay for the first time since coming aboard. She was due for her boarding physical and she would rather it be done sooner than later. Stepping into the tan medical bay, she was surprised by the refit med Bay's warmer colors. Most Starfleet ship's were moving toward white or grays in their sickbays, but Majestic seemed to be breaking the mold. She waited patiently for someone to notice her.

Sandy was in her office, She had not noticed anyone come in. That was until she got up and saw through the glass window of her office someone standing in sickbay looking around. She walked out and tilted as she said, "Hello, I am Doctor Sandra Adamson, but doctor or Sandy will do fine. How may I help you?" She asked as she made a quick look at her padd to see if she was on her list. "Ah, Lieutenant Isabella Torres. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Isabella nodded. "That's right! Feel free to call me Isabella. My family calls me Is, and my husband calls me Bell, so any of those are fine." She smiled at the number of nicknames. "I just thought we should get the boarding physical out of the way. Most people avoid it, but I have time, so why not just get it out the way?"

"Sounds good to me, Isabella," Sandy said. She got her medical tricorder and then pointed to a biobed. "Have a seat." She began to scan Is. "So anything I should know, any problems right now?" She tapped her tricorder and looked on it. "Any physical complaints?" She asked without looking up from her tricorder.

Isabella shook her head as she hopped up onto the biobed. "Nothing. Aside from a little tiredness from the move, the transport and all the excitement of a new duty station, there's really not much to talk about. A few nights of good sleep and everything will be back to normal."

Sandy nodded. She started to scan Isabella. Then she noticed something. "You sure you're not feeling light headed, nauseous or anything?" She tapped her tricorder and then walked to a computer screen on the wall, as she waited for an answer.

Isabella shook her head. "No, like I said, just a little run down." Her curiousity suddenly piqued, she asked, "Is there a reason, beyond travelling and moving, I should be concerned about?"

Sandy walked back to the biobed and started to scan Isabella again. This time more in her lower abdominal region. She looked to the tricorder again and then to the computer screen where she was at earlier. "I wouldn't be concerned, it is perfectly natural. So can I congratulate you? Trust me I ran the scan twice, and the tricorder is pretty acurate, but just to be sure, I did a scan with the medical scanner as well. It is confirmed."

Isabella cocked her head in confusion for a moment. The doctor seemed to be spending a lot of time scanning her abdomen, but then she made the comment about congratulations and the pieces seemed to fall into place. "Are you telling me I'm pregnant?" she asked with excitement and surprise.

"Yes, that I am, Lieutenant," Sandy said with a smile. "You're pregnant. And it all looks good. You're healthy, fetus is healthy."

Isabella's eyes lit up with excitement. She and Josh had discussed baby early after their wedding, but had decided with his upcoming command, it wasn't the time. Despite that, he must have chosen - or more likely forgotten - to get his birth control injection. "How far along are we?"

Sandy looked on the tricorder again. "8 weeks. So that means I am going to see you in here more regularly. Would you like to hear the baby's heart?"

Isabella seemed preoccupied with the idea of having a baby. Sandy smiled and then said as she handed the tricorder. "If you want to hear it just press this button here. The computer will let you hear it." Sandy then walked in to her office again.
