Jane tried to hold her fingers steady but she had a great need to tap them until she knew that the gas had worked and all were well. She'd promised this Hak that they would not be harmed and she was going to do everything in her power to assure that it happened but if they somehow got on board her ship, she couldn't make any promises.
Anger spread through her. Not toward Hak, she believed that he had no idea of this plot, but against those who would take what they could get even when she had offered nearly everything they could need and Jane never went back on a promise if she could help it. "Status? Is the situation under control yet?"
"Negative captain," Lieutenant Lilith Sullivan called out from her position on the bridge. Her bridge shift, like many of the others still feverishly working beside her, had ended nearly an hour ago, but with the executive officer and several of the crew stranded on Yorktown Station separated from the ship by an agitated multitude of settlers, their work was far from being over. "We're still trying to remotely shut down whatever dampening field is blocking transmissions, but the computer is having trouble compensating for the differences in technology in whatever... time we are in. The good news, if there is any, is that the hull integrity has not been compromised. Their attempts to breach have been ineffective."
"We will have to give the gas time to work."Lily stated. "It should have worked. And I hope that those that are stranded out there, have realized we can't communicate with them due to the jamming." she paused for a moment thinking, then Lily stated. " Actually I am certain that they have figured out that there is no communication possible . Commander Hanover is out there." she said with great confidence. "along with several others. They are capable of figuring out what is going on and come up with some sort of solution."
"If it doesn't work . . . " Jane didn't know what she was going to do all she knew was that she even though Starfleet didn't exist, she didn't like the idea of someone else getting a hold of this technology to do with as they pleased.
Meanwhile outside, Annabelle ducked behind some crates that were next to a pillar to avoid being seen by some of the residents of the station. She looked behind to check to see how Beata was doing. And hopefully Hanover had decided to join up with them. She didn't know if he was going to change his mind on staying behind to keep watch. She checked the frequency once more. It looked like they were still on track to find that jammer.
"Over here," Beata whispered pointing to a device that she'd only seen in a museum. She had no idea how to work on it, much less disable it without attracting the attention of everyone around her. Shooting it seemed the only sensible option but of course she couldn't do that.
Annabelle looked in the direction at the device Beata pointed out, and frowned slightly at it. "Great, an oldie but goody." as if reading Beata's mind, Annabelle came to the same conclusion of what to do. "How fast can you run?" Annabelle asked. "The reason why I am asking is, I can disable it, but there are just too many people to do it without being caught, and the only other thing I can see to be done would be to shoot it. And hopefully the Majestic can beam us aboard while we are making our escape. Be ready, on my mark, one...two... three!"
Taking aim at the device, Annabelle fired off her phaser, the beam shooting out and hitting it. Sparks fly there is the distinct scent of fried electronics, in the air while people scream and duck for cover.
"Run Beata get to Hanover and let's get out of here! And see if you can get through to the ship!" Annabelle quickly switching the phaser to stun only and hastily retreating back in the direction towards where Hanover and the ship is located.
Without giving her much time to think about it Beata was forced to sprint as fast as her legs would carry her. It felt like one of those dreams where things were happening in slow motion and no matter how much she moved her legs she couldn't keep far in front of anyone. But, she managed to make it back to Hanover and as she did so she tapped her combadge. "This is crewmember Lauryl, beam us out of here!"
"Activate the active tracking function of your badges," Commander Hanover instructed the others. The diplomatic option had failed, and the encroaching mob did not appear to be in the mood to reopen negotiations with anything other than the business end of a phase pistol. "We've got the overloaded phaser here as a last ditch flashbang, but we're pretty much out of options after that. We stick together and tactically retreat," Jared winked.
A crackle from communications startled Lily, turning swiftly to look.
"Captain, we've got contact!"
"This is crewmember Lauryl, beam us out of here!" could be heard.
Lily was stunned and happy to hear that. "But we have to worry about the docking clamps!" she exclaimed.
"One thing at a time, lieutenant. And there's no time like the present to get our people back!" Sullivan fervently pointed to the viewscreen on the bridge. The overlay showing the strength of the jamming signal began to drop precipitously, allowing enough of a connection to allow Beata's garbled communication to slip through. Then, one after another, four blips began to appear on the multifunction display at her console. "They've activated their trackers!"
"Get them out of there," Jane replied, standing up from her chair as if she could see them materialize better from that angle. But of course they would go to the transporter room, not the bridge. She tapped her combadge. "Saulitis to Transporter room one, do we have them? Who is present?"
"We've go them all, the ones whom we've picked up on the trackers."
=^=Ah, breathe in the recycled air of a Federation starship,=^= Hanover took an exaggeratedly large breath as he stepped down from the transporter platform. Over the speakers on the bridge, his disembodied voice belied the stress that he and others had been placed under. =^=It's good to be back, Majestic, but we've still got the issue of the assembled masses trying to knock down the door to the keep, so to speak. The hull appeared to be holding on just fine, but we should rectify this issue before they resort to more drastic measures.=^=

Lily looked at Jane, a relieved expression in her eyes. "I am glad they're back."
