The sun was warm, the beach was as clean and crisp as one could expect in a resort and the water just looked like straight from a brochure. Patrick glanced around in wonder, hand firm within Murphy's, towel slung across his shoulders. His other hand still firmly held the bottle of sunscreen, though he wondered if it was going to get any use at all.

"Wow..." he breathed as he took it all in, while trying to avoid staring at other guests at the same time.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Murphy said, flipping the sunglasses down off his head and into place on his nose. "And so warm. Let's set up our towels and.. uh.. we can help each other with the lotion."

Nodding, Patrick followed his lead down to what they considered to be the perfect spot. He took a moment to shake out his beach towel and smoothen it onto the sand. Taking in a deep breath, he turned to his partner while flipping up the lid of the bottle in his hand. "Turn around, I'll do your back first," he said softly, feeling as though they were being watched.

"Thanks." Murphy turned around and let Patrick coat him in the sunscreen. It did feel a little unusual to be entirely naked in such a public place, but no one was really paying attention to them and everyone else seemed quite at ease as far as he could tell. He was surprised at how easy it was, but he couldn't help but feel that Paddy was still tense about it all.

"Let me do you next," Murphy said, starting to turn around before he was finished.

Nodding, Patrick handed the bottle over, turned around and wiped the remainder of the lotion on his hands off on his legs. "You should be alright for a little while," he offered, while giving his best efforts to relax.

"Of course I am, 'cause I'm right here with you," Murphy said, leaning onto Patrick's shoulders a bit and giving him a kiss on the neck. He stepped back and squirted sunscreen all over Paddy's backside, from shoulders to knees, and then tossed the bottle onto the towel and started working it in. "You're so tense," he said as his fingers found the spot between his shoulder blades. He focused on that spot for a long moment.

A shiver went down the younger man's spine at the kiss. "Just a little nervous," he admitted, sighing audibly at the massage. "That feels nice." He paused for a moment, letting the moment sink in. "And I have you too, we're in this together. I'm just afraid that ah.. something might happen..."

Murphy ran his hands down the man's back and rested them on his hips for a moment. "It might, some day. But that's not today." He finished rubbing in the sunscreen on the back with quick swipes and stepped over to get the bottle again. "Ok. Turn around. We're getting all this awkward business out of the way so that we can relax the rest of the time here." He squeezed some lotion into Paddy's hand and some in his own hand. He grinned. "Same time. Go."

The younger man blushed deeply as he did as suggested. "That wasn't quite what I meant, I'm sure we're perfectly safe here. I meant uhm..." His eyes traveled down his partner's body with a minute nod. Yet at the same time he paced his own hand against the others chest. Smiling, he carefully reached out with his other hand as well. "Good thing you seem less shy about it all," he added softly, leaning forward to kiss him. "This is going to be the best holiday ever," he promised.

"Yeah, I don't know why," Murphy said between kisses. He had gotten most of Patrick's front side, but there was still a lot of sunscreen on the palm of his hand when he reached up and rested it on the side of the other man's face."It just feels right. To just let go. It's just us. No one else here matters."

"Perhaps," Paddy mused, "this holiday is exactly what we need. This resort I mean. To let go, and find ourselves and get to know each other better." He smiled, gazing deep into Murphy's pale green eyes. "I still love your eyes," he whispered.

Someone nearby cleared his throat. "Drinks?" Manu had a serving tray of colorful, tropical drinks. He seemed to be having no trouble balancing the tray as he walked toward them through the pristine sand.

"Oh. Uh... why not?" Murphy shrugged, looking between Patrick and Manu. "We're on holiday."

Feeling both caught and interrupted, patrick gave the manservant an utterly annoyed look. "Sure," he said, "though next time we'll call if we want anything." He clearly wasn't pleased with the interruption of what had been a most romantic moment. "Please don't interrupt again."

"As you wish," Manu managed a bow without even tipping over his serving tray, before he handed them their drinks. "There is a beach yoga class out here at 0500 hours, every morning, right as the the sun is dawning. You should come tomorrow. Work out your tensions. I can help you with your form," he mentioned, mostly to Murphy, it seemed.

"That sounds... wow. Fascinating. Don't you think, Pad?" Murph asked, glancing to his partner and reading the expression on Patrick's face. "Or.. you know, we'll see. We're not really yoga people, Manu. Thank you."

Patrick managed to bite back a response, gritting his teeth instead until his jaw hurt. Was this servant really openly flirting with his boyfriend? What was he thinking? "I don't think we need any help with any forms," he finally said through gritted teeth, "can you please leave us now? You were kind of interrupting something." He glanced sideways at Murph, desperate for them to be alone now. They needed this, not some unwanted interruption.

"As you wish, as you wish," Manu bowed again before trodding off toward his next guests somewhere down the beach.

"I'm sure he works on tips or something," Murphy said, reading Patrick's frustration. "Come on, don't let it get to you. Where were we?" he took a long drink of the beverage.

"I just don't like how he keeps hovering about us like some needy puppy," Patrick answered, sipping his own drink. "Even though this is quite nice.." He drained the glass and set it aside, "now where were we? I believe we were going to do something simultaneously?" A part of his cheeky smile returned even if his eyes didn't join in just yet.

"I feel my chest starting to burn already," Murphy said, laughing a bit about that. "We need to finish up this lotion or we'll never make it to the water. I might get distracted and have to take you back to the cabin..." he grinned mischievously.

Smile widening, Patrick made quick work of finishing up lest things might go away.

Murphy and Pat sat together with a blanket draped over the shoulders from the cool evening air, the light of the flames danced across their faces and bodies as they watched the beach campfire burn down. The waves crashed rhythmically somewhere in the background and the stars twinkled overhead.

"I can't believe it's only been a day. It feels like we've been here forever and I don't ever want it to end," Murph said quietly as he reflected on the day.

"We could always stay here," Patrick whispered suggestively, resting his hand on Murphy's leg. He rested his head against the other man's shoulder, sighing contently. The warmth from the fire was a contrast to the cool evening air. "We can stay a day or longer perhaps? I'm uh... more comfortable now... though perhaps we should go back to the cabin.." he tilted his face up with a suggestive smile as he allowed his hand to stray just a fraction.

"Perhaps we should," Murph agreed with one or both of those sentiments as he leaned in and kissed a line from Patrick's ear to his neck.

Shivering, the younger man allowed the kiss before getting up, drawing the other up with him. He reached to pull the blanket around them, protecting them from the cool air as they walked away from the fire. "Did the cabin have a fireplace? Do you recall?" He asked, "it'd be nice if we had right?" But he couldn't remember himself, he'd been too distracted. He did notice they were alone, so he turned slightly to steal another kiss.

"We'll find some way to keep warm, I promise," Murphy said, firelight twinkling in his eye as he took Patrick by the hand. He lead him up the dark beach path toward the scattered row of beach huts.
