Mission:
A Day In The Life
Location: Ready Room

Jane was expecting her replacement. She hadn't told her crew why she was leaving but she had a good reason and one that she hoped they would understand someday down the line when they found out. The ready room was cleaned of all personal items and Hak was waiting for her in her quarters. Those also wouldn't be hers in a matter of hours. The chime sounded on the door and she glanced up. "Come in."
Elijah stepped in and smiled seeing Jane, "Hello again, long time no see, Commodore or may I call you, Jane." giving a small impish grin towards her. "It's been along time hasn't it?"
"Jane would be just fine," Very few people called her that but it was her name. "And yes it has. Can I offer you something to drink?" She moved toward the replicator before he'd had a chance to speak again. She ordered herself a cup of roobius tea and waited for his response.
"Yes please, Green tea with lemon and honey. " Elijah replied. "How have things been for you?" taking a look around the now sterile looking office. He was reminded of how his old office looked like on the USS Nighthawk, once he removed his personal belongings. He felt a pang of nostalgia missing his original ship.
"It looks like you have the same taste in interior decoration, like I have in my old ready room. Empty, of personal effects." Elijah quipped.
"Well I had a few more things but they're already packed. My husband is waiting for me as soon as we finish a few details here. But in general I'm not someone who gets sentimental. I will miss Majestic though. My first command and she's an excellent ship."
Elijah gave a nod. "My wife is waiting for me to get the final details taken care of also." he responded. "The Majestic is a fine ship, and I was surprised to find out that I was being transferred here. You've done well for yourself, Jane." he said quietly. "I heard the reports on your command. And I thought, wow, I know her. I knew you had the capabilities of being in command."
She chuckled. "I certainly didn't feel it when I came on board. I was so nervous, but it worked out. Just like with most things, you live and learn as you go."
"That is so true. I remember my feelings when I received my first command. I was nervous as well. " Elijah grinned, accepting his tea from her. "Any pointers you have concerning the ship and the crew? Or, do I get to go on my own journey of getting to know them as time goes on. "
"Nothing of serious interest, they all do their jobs and do them well." Jane wasn't about to mention any disciplinary actions that weren't already on file. And she could think of a few things that never got reported because she believed in giving people second chances. "I'm sure they'll perform admirably for you."
Elijah nodded, taking a look at his PADD, "It looks like one of your crew members is going to be in for a big surprise, when she finds out I'm the new CO of the Majestic. I don't know if you had the chance to meet Dr. Lily Marlow as of yet. She had been the assistant CMO on my ship, before she had gotten transferred to here." giving a bit of a chuckle, and looking back up at Jane.
"Oh yes, cheerful Lily, I'm sure she'll love that." Jane smiled back. "I should probably be going. Good luck with her Captain, I know I'm leaving the ship in good hands."
Elijah gave a nod, "I hope things will work out. And thank you for entrusting me with the Majestic. You have a good life and enjoy it." holding out his hand to shake hers. "Be well, Jane."
Jane took it, smiled once more, gave the room a glance and walked out of it for the last time.

Touching! We'll miss Jane for sure, but so glad she'll always be around in other ways. <3 Liam
