Mission: A Day In The Life
Location: Sick Bay
Timeline: A few days after command change

S'anra walked to the nearest turbolift from her quarters and got in. " Sickbay please. " The lift hummed along it's way and deposited her near to Sickbay. She walked in and looked around and spotted a few people. " Umm... Excuse me. I'm Lieutenant JG S'anra Shalakar. I'm newly transferred to the Majestic and am reporting in for my physical. "

The Orion woman's eyes followed the hustle and bustle of Sickbay briefly before returning to the Doctor. " Unless you're too busy at this time and I could make an appointment to come back when it's more convenient for you if you'd like."

Lhaes sized the woman up for a moment, then gestured to one of the vacant beds. "Now's as good at time as any," the Romulan replied with a smile, "I trust you are up to date with your inhibitor injections?"

S'anra smiled. " Actually I prefer the sub dermal inhibitor implant, it's good for six months that way and is quickly replaced. " She pointed to a spot on her left rib cage. " It's located right there and it is just about time for it's replacement, It's most likely running on fumes by now perhaps a day or so left on it. that's one of the reason's I came in today. "

" I just arrived a few days ago with the new Captain and have been assigned as the new Chief flight control officer, And thank you for taking the time to see me today. "

"Well we can certainly replace the implant," the Romulan answered. He walked off for a few seconds then came back with a larger type of hypospray, containing a small cannister. "I will get the old one out, and inject this new one. As far as time goes, I have plenty of it as I get adjusted to a new position."

S'anra gave a warm smile. " So were your recently promoted as the CMO? If so congratulations. Or are your recently transferred to the Majestic as well? " She lifted up the side of her uniform top exposing the mid portion of her ribcage so as to make the extraction of the sub dermal unit easier.

" I haven't met to many people aboard yet Doctor, So tell me what you think about the ship and crew in your opinion? "

"I've been here quite some time now, I started as intelligence chief then moved to security to find myself a new challenge. But after years in intel, I feel I've finally found my place." The Romulan smiled as he made quick work of the implant. "The Majestic is a good ship with a good crew, though I do feel Captain Saulitis will be missed. I'm sure you'll make your own place here, if you'll allow for the time."

" Well I seem to have plenty of time on my hands since I'm newly arrived here, my niche here is already cut and dried so to say. The Majestic is a beautiful ship with a fine reputation, And a ship doesn't get that without a dang fine crew. " She stated as a matter of fact. " I am looking forward to getting to know more of the crew and making new friends here in my new home. "

She gave him a warm genuine smile. " well between you and the Captain, I guess I could say I've made two new friends already and it is a pleasure to know you. "

"It's good to have friends, it's better to have people you trust," Lhaes answered wisely. "Did you bring a family with you?"

S'anra briefly looked surprised." Umm....No I didn't bring any family as I am not married. My Aunt Ember was the one who got me interested in joining Starfleet. The Ah.....Rest of my family wasn't to keen to the idea of me joining Starfleet. They think I should have been a dutiful daughter and married to cement an alliance with another Orion house or trading partner. I had other ideas with what I wanted to do with my future. "

"You have your own life to lead," the Romulan answered, "don't let anyone ever tell you how to lead yours. I'd have been a Tal Shiar agent, if I hadn't decided to follow my own path instead of what others tried to decide for me. You put yourself to what you want to do, and you'll be alright. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, because of who they think you should be."

" Well that sounds like some advice that I could easily live with. " As she nodded in agreement. " If I can't follow my own path in life and be the person I'm meant to be, then I'm being false to myself and become a lesser person for it. "
S'anra grinned. " And here I thought I was coming in for just some humdrum boring physical and wind up having a pleasant conversation with a new friend. If your not careful I just might drop by to have more of these conversations , '
when your not busy that is. "

Lhaes chuckled. "Well you're welcome to come talk, but I probably would have to refer you to a counselor. I'm a great many things, and I can pose as a great many things.... but a counselor isn't one of them I'm afraid."

S'anra laughed. " A counselor? I'm not that crazy! " She said with a good natured grin. " But seriously, anyone who can give good solid common sense advice is good in my book. Thank you , I think this has been the most enjoyable physical exam that I've ever had. I came in here a stranger and leave here feeling comfortable and welcome, Like I came in here and chatted with a old friend. That's how welcome you've made me feel. Thank you for your for your kindness. "

"You are welcome, and thank you as well..." It was still often enough, that the Romulan was met with grumpy faces of prejudiced people who didn't want to deal with him for the species he was born into.

S'anra hopped off the table and landed lightly on the floor. " Well I guess I had better get back to work, Thank you once again and I'll see you around sooner then later. The ship isn't that big after all. " She said warmly and headed towards the door. " Goodbye for now my friend. "
