Since Vanya still had time before she was officially on duty, she decided to head to sickbay and see if she could get her physical. She got only one odd link for her leather skirt, but she just grinned and continued on her way. She walked through the doors and looked around, hoping there would be someone available to help her.
Sandra walked out of her office with a couple of medical tricorders and put them on a trolley when she noticed the lieutenant. "Ah, Lieutenant, how can I assist you?" She asked with a friendly smile. "I hope you haven't been waiting too long here. I am terribly sorry."
"Actually, it hasn't been long at all." Vanya smiled. "I'm new and need a routine physical to state that I'm still alive and kicking. Do you have some time for me?"
"Of course I have time for you now. It's quiet at the moment." She walked into her office and turned on her screen calling up the Lieutenants file. "Ah there we go, Lieutenant Vanya Karolyi, is that correct?"
Vanya smiled. "It is."
"Excellent. Anything I should know about that is not in your file before we continue. Any symptoms or medical issues you like to discuss?" She got out a medical tricorder as she walked to the Lieutenant.
"No. I'm pretty healthy, for the most part. The occasional cold, of course, but since I often work alone, I don't get them very often." That was one perk of being a data analyst and archivist. She spent a lot of time with computers.
Sandy began to scan the lieutenant. She now and then noted something on the computer next to her. She finally spoke up again. "Well, it seems my scans agree with your personal assessment. You are healthy. You can go back to your duty."
"That was quick." Vanya looked at the doctor for a moment. "It's not a complaint. Just a comment. May I ask how long you've been on the Majestic?" She smiled. "I do data analysis so I'm naturally a curious person."
Sandy smiled. "I have been on the Majestic before. When it first left dry dock, but I have been on sabbatical for a while. I recently returned to the Majestic to take on my old position. I have returned with my good friend Tarria. She is running the Arcana bar/lounge. She is also a certified counselor if you ever want to talk to her. She has a unique way to conduct her counseling sessions." Sandy chuckled at that part. "And there is no shame in being curious. In a way aren't we all curious here?"
Vanya chuckled. "Sometimes I think it's a requirement for joining Starfleet. It definitely was for me." Even though she didn't need a counselor, Vanya decided she should meet the woman in the lounge.
"I agree, I think that is a requirement, almost." She looked in front of her a moment in thoughts and then said, "Funny how that works. So how did you end up on the Majestic?"
"I was transferred. Mostly because the Majestic was in need of a data archivist and analyst." Vanya shrugged. "And I wanted to work for Lieutenant Prenar. I like learning new things, and he promises to be worth it." Working for a Cardassian intelligence officer was an opportunity she didn't want to pass up and so far, she was enjoying her time here--mostly because she liked a challenge.
"Interesting. well, it's nice to have you here, Lieutenant. I will see you at the next examination. Or maybe elsewhere on the ship." She smiled warm as she looked at the tricorder. "Is there something else I can help you with?"
"No. I have nothing else. Thank you." Vanya stood and smiled. "It was a pleasure meeting you, doctor. I will see you around."
