Of all the people in the world, as the Assistant Chief Security Officer, she should be checking in with medical to get clearance before she assumed duty. However, she had assumed duty and nobody said anything to her, so the matter slipped her mind. Well, it had slipped her mind until she was doing her own routine scan of her 'to do' list and did not see it checked off.

Immediately, she rushed over to sickbay. She was beaming with a smile but worry was behind her eyes. She called out, cheerfully, yet slightly panicked, "Oh, hello! I'm Tara Marsh! I forgot to handle my physical. Can someone help me and get that out of the way so I can resume duty?"

Sandy walked out of her office and looked at the hyperactive and enthusiastic Assistant security chief. "Hello Lieutenant, I am Doctor Sandra Adamson. Welcome to my sickbay." She walked to a computer and called up her medical files. "Let's see, Tara Marsh, I got your file right here. Is there anything I need to know that's not in your file. Any symptoms or medical issues I need to know about?" She picked up a medical tricorder.

"I'm afraid not," she told the doctor cheerfully. "Barring some conflict or exercise injury, this should be the first and last time that you see me." Her beaming smile showed her pearly white teeth at the doctor. "Understand, I mean nothing by that. I'm certain that you're a wonderful person."

Sandy sighed and started to scan the security officer. "I hope so Lieutenant, in your line of work you just don't know, do you? Also I do hope to see you back on the annual mandatory exams from Starfleet. I do realize that maybe a lot to ask."

"Why do you say that?" Tara asked slightly confused.

Sandy gave a wry smile. "Well, we are Starfleet officers in deep space exploration, anything can happen. It is my duty not only to tend for injured, but also make sure the crew is in tip top condition. During a crisis I often see a lot of security officers and engineers, but that doesn't mean it could happen to you, of course."

"I'm certain that all of those things are possible," Tara agreed. "However, if I worry about all the possibilities, I could not do my job. Imagine if every athlete worried about getting hurt. Could they perform? I don't see how they could. They would not take risks they might need to win because they were afraid of getting hurt. The same is true for me. I have to keep a positive outlook."

Sandy nodded, "But of course, I didn't mean to make you worry about those these things. I merely meant, you can't ever exclude that you won't be seeing me again after this. And I forgot to mention the senior staff meetings, or the passing in the hallway or the casual meeting in the crew lounge off duty." She looked on the tricorder. "Well looks like you are in excellent health. You can go back to duty."

"Well, if you want to see me again, you certainly can. Perhaps we could run a holo together? We could climb a mountain or go white water rafting or, well, what do you like?" Tara hopped off the biobed and stretched, looking like she was ready to take a running leap at something.

Sandy tapped her fingers on the tricorder thinking about that question. "Perhaps we should try something less challenging? Maybe some coffee first, getting to know each other better first." She smiled nervously. She wasn't really that active.

Oh, she's likely not a person that likes to be active. Funny for a doctor but it takes all kinds. Well, we should get to know her anyways. "OK. We can do the proverbial coffee. Just let me know when and where and I'll be there with bells on!"

"Excellent, I will let you know. Perhaps we will find some activities we will both like. I do like sporting activities, but I am a bit afraid of heights, so climbing is a bit too extreme for me." She smiled. "Nice to meet you, Lieutenant."

"Perhaps a swim, then?" Tara offered. "Nice meeting you, too."
