There was an influx of new staff members to the ship and Elijah thought it best to have a quick meeting. He sent out a call for the department heads as well as the Assistant department heads, and a couple of others to come to the Briefing Room.

He realized that he was a little bit lax on doing this, but was now of a firm mind to get this accomplished. Especially since there had been members who had left.

Goldie didn't mean to be the first person to arrive. She usually liked to be on time, but after others were already there. She was not generally an "eager beaver," but she was excited about his new assignment and wanted to meet the people she'd be working with. She only bounced a little when she walked in and looked around.

As a Chief Intelligence Officer Hadir felt that his place was never seen and seldom heard. As such he rarely if ever saw the bridge crew. When the Captain's summons came through he was sure to arrive at the precise minute requested. Cardassians were extremely formal and by the book. He ducked his head as he stepped through the door frame. Without a word he took a seat. The gray color of his uniform bringing attention to his pale skin and the dour look that he carried on his face most of the time.

The Assistant Chief Security Officer was uncertain why she was called into a briefing. However, if the Captain wanted her, Tara would go. That was her duty. At 5'2", she strode with a commanding and confident stride, while wearing a genuine smile. She greeted everyone as she walked in, "Good day, everyone."

Lieutenant Commander Murphy strided into the room. While there was no current crisis in engineering, there were always things being done on a starship and always more things needing to be done. He, however, did not look terribly annoyed. Meetings, though disruptive, were generally necessary and certainly a part of life here. He gave a few short nods and wore a tense smile as he made his way to the conference table and sat in his usual spot. He knew who everyone was, but had yet to work directly with several people.

Nearly tripping over her own feet as the doors opened True Keading stopped, smiled at her gaff and strode the rest of the way in, taking a seat in the middle of the table, forcing herself to be a bit more present and comfortable with this briefing than she actually was.

Tara immediately headed over to True and came to support her. "Are you alright?"

Elijah had caught the movement, he mouthed to Tara that it looked like True was alright.

S'anra walked into the briefing room and got herself a cup of tea from the replicator and then found an open seat and sat down and wondered what this briefing was about. She noticed an unfamiliar face standing behind the Captain and was trying to guess what the new mission was going to be.

The doors opened again, and Orin walked in, tapping on a PaDD. His eyes darted up quickly to survey the room, before focusing back on his work. He placed the PaDD down on a seat nearest to the door, and quickly ordered an herbal tea from the replicator. As he sat down and sipped the tea, he surveyed the room, noting the new faces and took in their details, before putting down the mug and focusing back on the PaDD.

Craig stood behind Captain Rutherford and watched silently as the department heads came into the briefing room and mentally checked them off as they came in. He was able to recognize all the department heads and a few of the assistant department heads, he was a bit fuzzy on the rest of them, but no matter that would come it good time as he got to know these people better. Craig smiled inwardly to himself, he had his kids aboard the ship and everyone he met so far has lived up to the professional ideals of starfleet. He was really starting to feel that this would be a job that he'd enjoy.

Vanya had no idea why she'd been invited to the briefing. She was an archivist and dealt in information. But she was also curious. When she walked into the room, she looked around, recognizing all the department heads. She really needed to familiarize herself with the assistants as well. It could be important later. She saw Hadir and smiled. Might as well sit by the boss.

She slid into the seat next to her boss and smiled. "Fancy meeting you here."

"The Captain calls and you answer." Hadir said with little emotion on his face. "I do wonder what this is about. Probably our next mission orders."

"I knew you'd be attending, and I couldn't resist." She smiled sweetly at him. Yes, this was obviously leading up to something, probably the next mission, but she couldn't help poking Hadir just a little.

T'Par came in after Vanya. She took a seat and folded her hands neatly in front of the other, folding her hands neatly in front of her. She surveyed the meeting impassively. "I apologize for being late. There was an issue that arose in science that would have become a safety issue if not thoroughly dealt with."*

Since everyone had arrived, Elijah rose from his chair, to stand beside Craig, also he just didn't like anyone standing behind him. "I will make this as brief as I can, first off, I would like to introduce all of you to Commander Craig Braxton, he has been assigned to the USS Majestic as Executive officer. " He waited for Craig to take his seat and brief introduction are made before continuing on.

"Second of all, we have a mystery to solve and that is where the Dragon that is in Cargo Bay Eight, is from. Some of you have already met him, and he has been referred to as Guardian by those who have had interaction with him. Guardian was discovered on Adna Station by Commander T'Par, Lieutenant Marlow, and Lieutenant Sempton. StarFleet is interested in finding out Guardian's origins. "

There was a dragon in cargo bay eight? Why had she not heard of this? Vanya would make a point of meeting this dragon at her earliest convenience. She loved a good mystery and this promised to be an excellent one.

After helping True, Tara now had the opportunity to observe more and she noticed the interaction between Vanya and Hadir. Ah, a couple. Good information to know. She smiled in their direction.

Vanya felt the attention and turned to look at Tara. She neither liked nor trusted the smile on the other woman's face, so she smiled sweetly in return.

Ooh! A friend! Tara thought to herself and smiled more brightly as she walked over towards Vanya. She then introduced herself, "I'm newer here. Tara Marsh, Assistant Chief of Security. I heard your name is Vanya. What department are you in, again?"

"Intelligence. I'm an archivist and researcher," Vanya replied. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you as well. I'm in security. Assistant Chief. We will probably work together a bit," Tara told Vanya. "I'm glad to get the opportunity to meet everyone."

Vanya nodded. She wasn't sure how much she'd work with security. A lot of that would depend on her boss. She had no problem with it, but he might want everything to go through him. She looked over at Hadir for a moment, wondering if he would care to comment. She was pretty sure he was listening.

The intel officer turned back to Tara. "I'm always ready to help where needed--depending on the nature of the information."

Lily was watching everyone who was attending this introductory briefing, hearing her name, she spoke up, "Yes, Lieutenant Sempton, Commander T'Par and I did come across Guardian, he was instrumental in helping to stop Adna from her little reign of terror. It took teamwork in order to do such."

Elijah gave a nod. " I do believe there was someone else who was closely connected to Guardian."

"Yes that is Lieutenant T'Seng. " Lily was a bit surprised that T'Seng hadn't been asked to this meeting, she looked at Elijah with a raised eyebrow and a questioning gaze.

Elijah catching her unspoken question, "Lieutenant T'seng is not able to be here. She will be available for other questions where Guardian is concerned at a later time." was all that he had to say.

"Now thet you have an idea on who is in what department, and who the XO is. We can end this meeting, and we can get back to our day to day routine. Any questions before we close this meeting?"

Vanya had a lot of questions, but she didn't think this was the time or place for them. She wondered how much Hadir knew of this dragon. She also wondered if she needed permission to speak with said dragon. She glanced at her boss. Then there were questions that she didn't think were appropriate to ask in public--if she asked them at all. Those would likely go unasked and unanswered.

" Captain Rutherford. " Said Craig as he rose from his seat. " I have no questions but would like to address those that are assembled here. " He wait for a nod of approval before he continued. " As you all know I am Commander Braxton. First off I'm going to tell you what I'm not going to do, I'm not here to crack the whip to try to make this the best ship in the fleet. I have looked over your profiles and Evals and will say I'm quite impressed. I even found out the reputation of the ship and crew which were excellent, it seems I have drawn a plum assignment and I am looking forward to working with you and getting to know you all better. The only thing I would ask of you is to keep up the excellent work your already doing. " With that said he sat back down.

Hadir sat with his head rested on his hand. He observed, he listened, this was his training, this he felt was the bread and butter of an Intelligence Officer. The dragon in the cargo bay was not news to him, it was something that did not interest him too much. There was no secrets there, and Hadir dealt in secrets. The new XO was someone he would look into. He would see what the man's intelligence file had to reveal. Things were never what they seemed.

Noting the focus of her boss' gaze, and that they were being watched, Vanya put a hand on Hadir's arm and leaned closer. "I'll look into his background for you," she whispered. The expression on her face was calm and professional, but the twinkle in her eyes was devilish. "It's one of many things I'm good at."

Elijah gave a nod towards T'Par, at her arrival giving a slight smile in acknowledgement.

"Thank you Commander Braxton." Elijah glanced around at those of his staff. "If there are not any other questions, at this time but do have questions you'd like to ask later on, contact me. For now, I call this meeting at an end, you are dismissed."
